Body Fat / BMI / Weight Maintenance challenge - Starts July 21st through September 15th!
Hey, all!
Okay, so for more than 100 days, I've worked with a lot of great people to drop weight. I've dropped a lot.
I still want to drop a little more, but only as I add muscle. So... this is a challenge for both. Over the next eight weeks, we:
1) Will weigh in twice a week. Mondays and Thurdays.
2) On Mondays, we need to check body fat and BMI and see where we're at. It doesn't matter how you measure this stuff, as long as you keep measuring it the same way over the course of the challenge. :)
It won't be pretty.. BUT... I think it's a nice honing mechanism for those of us that are getting closer to our goal, while still working together with those that have a little more to lose.

Keep up the good work! You are only .25 lbs away from your goal for this forum. That's great! I can notice the difference in your pictures from earlier this year to the latest.
Happy Monday! Back to the grind. Still maintaining, which is good. During the week, I eat squeaky clean, then I cheat on one of the days over the weekend. We had our big town fair this past weekend and I ate a nice big ice cream.

I forgot to post but weighed in yesterday. Today I jumped on the scale and it said 163.5 so hopefully on our final weigh in I'll be that or lower. I have increased my activity level some but haven't been very strict with my eating which is why I'm staying the same. It is so hard to good for so long, at this rate it will take until November to lose the remaining 15 lbs. :-(

It is hard. Remember, this should be a lifestyle change and not just a diet. Diets end and the weight comes back. Lifestyle changes are completed and last. It's hard for me at this time of year to lose, so I've decided to just maintain from here through the end of the year. Better to know and understand that, then to get frustrated and go back to old bad eating habits. Also, remember to give yourself some cheat meals. I've been eating extremely clean all week (Monday through Friday), then pick and cheat one day over the weekend. Now, I won't go eat 5,000 calories, but I will treat myself to a dessert or a bad meal. It's been working for me now since early August. I'm stuck with roughly 5 lbs to go and it's the toughest to lose, so I'm putting it off until the New Year, when I can concentrate more on losing it and set myself up for success. Good Luck!

Ok, so if I make it out of this challenge where I started weight wise that will be fantastic. I don't know if I trust my scale one bit on the BF measurement, but its the lowest one I've seen yet. :)
I agree with you steelerfan, it is hard. Just plain hard. But good advice bpcrue. This isn't just about losing some lbs. Think how much better off we'll be later in life if we're committed to a healthy lifestyle. The benefits are so much more than just looking a certain way.
Fall is better than summer for me (in terms of eating), so I am optimistic. No more vacations, birthdays, fewer parties. This is a great time for produce around here too (Northern Cali).
Its funny how its kinda sad when these things are ending!
The end is here, for this forum. Only a few of us survived it and we should be proud of that.

I'm happy with the progress during this forum. I've been on maintenance since August started and have been pretty steady within a 3 lb area. I'll get back to finishing off and hitting my goal, which is only 4.4 lbs away at the beginning of 2009. Too tough for me in the Fall to be focused enough and those last few pounds are going to be tough to drop. I'll be really happy and satisfied if I maintain throughout the Fall and the holidays as this is the toughest time of year for me. I'm always renewed and focused in January, so if I maintain until then, tackling the last few pounds should be easy.

I made by goal by more than a pound! Yay! I can't believe this challenge is over AND I can't believe how few of us are left. We should all be proud for sticking this out. Nice work everyone!
