Just a question, were one to want to, how would one discover one's body fat percentage? The fancy schmancy machine at the gym has one but a) don't go there anymore, and b) the last time I did it it said I had minus percent which is either Not Right (probable) or Really Really Bad, and it's hard to know which internet stuff to test because they all throw up different results.
Ta.
Oh, also, I remembered this poem today and it pretty much sums up how I'm feeling right now, also, I quite like it:
The dye is cast,
The dice is rolled.
I feel like ****,
You look like gold.
This is one site I just used. I'll be curious to see other posts / sites. According to this site the average fat percentage for U.S. women is 32%, 22% is ideal for most of us, 15 - 20% is healthy only for athletes. Our bodies need fat to function and this is even more true for women given our biology :) When I first saw 30% I was surprised, but when I saw that 22% is ideal I relaxed a lot. I set a goal that I need to go back and revise - I'm aiming for 20% and I think that will feel good on me.
Skin Caliper. period.
Lol. I tried one of those tests just a few minutes ago and it gave me a body fat percentage of 10%. Hahaha, I agree with horacewalpole. Get it done professionally. :)
Those online sites will be inaccurate.
Skin calipers are only as good as the person measuring you. You need to do hundreds before you are any good at it...and you would need to do a 6 point caliper, not the three that most people do.
The hand held electronic devices or the scales are also inaccurate, as they depend too much on hydration.
DEXA or a bodpod would probably be the best measure. A DEXA is a medical scan, and you would need to see a doctor. A bodpod you can find at some gyms...you'd have to look around and see if there is one near you.
What type of food should not be eaten?
Calorie Count does not prescribe a particular diet or tell people to avoid particular foods. We only ask that you eat a balanced diet... Read more
