I am 5'5" and 132lbs. I eat a little over 1000 calories a day and I'm working towards a goal of 126lbs or lower because I have body image issues.

I have a bust of 34", a waist of 26" and hips of 34", but I still see myself as FAT.

I DO NOT HAVE AN EATING DISORDER, but sometimes I feel like I should stop eating all together just to lose a few more pounds.=/

Is there any one out there who is in the same boat or has some advice for me?

I'm kind of similar to you...5'6" 133lb. Bust 34", waist 26.5", and hips 32.5"  I however can't eat just 1000 calories a day haha. I don't even think I could do 1500...I just love eating.

I definitely get discouraged and wish I could lose the weight fast and just get it over with, but then I read posts and articles about how counterproductive fast weight loss is. The vast majority of people gain it all back, plus more. So when I think about that, I realize that I'm losing weight the SMART way. I'm making my "diet" a lifestyle, not a 6 month change. I think maybe you need to change your mindset. Don't eat so little - up your calories. Don't think of this as a diet - think of it as something you want to do for the rest of your life.

Good luck! Don't get discouraged!

Sounds good to me, but the way I think about it is when I get down to my goal wieght, my maintaining goal for calories will be all too easy to follow. I think its about 1800?

Your body looks good and toned! What do you do for your workout, if you dont mine me asking?

If you've read the forums, you should know that you're going to get told to eat more if you intend to use the sight for weight loss. At least 1200 cals a day, 1500 if you're under 18.

My advice? Talk to a professional about your body image issues, since you know thats why you are losing weight.

You may not have an eating disorder, but how do you think people develop them? I imagine they start with this sort of thinking, and severe calorie restriction.

You do have an eating disorder!

I don't know what you mean by that. You can be any weight and consuming any number of calories and have an eating disorder.

The OP does have an eating disorder if she is chronically undereating as a result of poor body image, and striving to attain an unrealistic goal. Her denial of having an eating disorder in the original post is only evidence that she knows something is very wrong - otherwise she would not have added that comment.

My advice to the OP is this: The problems that exist in your life, will still exist if you reach your goal weight. And most likely, you will have compounded them. If you are like the mass majority who are not born with supermodel proportions then trying to reach this size will only cause you misery, pain and binging. The likelihood is you won't be able to sustain this weight, and as well as being miserable you will feel guilty if you put weight back on.

Work to change your view of what a healthy, beautiful body is - don't change your body to fit unrealistic standards. Read books, visit recovery websites, write a journal, see a doctor, participate in counselling, visit a nutritionist, open up to a loved one, reconnect with friends and find hobbies and activities that will distract you from food obsession. There is so much more to life than the numbers you associate with food and your body... don't sacrifice what life has to offer for this deadly obsession.

Well you should know eating under 1000 isn't healthy. And you probably do know that. If you are having body image issue, you will still have it when you lose weight.

I have a very similar stat as yours and sometimes I feel fat. But sorry honey, there is a limit to how far you can take your body. I believe the (over simplified) solution to body image problem is to accept your body as what it is and don't take out other frustrations on your body.
