What equipment is needed to do the workouts at home?
Free weights
All I have are dumbbells. Would that work?
Most likely, not heavy enough - your best instrument is your own body - your body weight. Doing floor exercises and using your own body as resistance is a great way to exercise for cheap. Resistance bands (long elastics) can help too.

emilie - the body for life program uses free weights- dumbells, squat racks;and "real" weights not floor and resitance bands. and free weights/ dumbells are the same- as long as you have heavy set you'll do fine. I did the Body for life program for a few weeks and it is great but now am doing the New Rules of llifting. Both programs are very similiar in working the muscles hard.
There is also a Body for life group but not much happening over there.
I am doing Body For Life For Women and the book lists what you need for a home gym. Most important are the free weights (as already stated) and I am going to get a weight bench. An exercise ball and resistance bands may also come in handy.
