Body Mods...

Wondering if there are many members here who have had some form of plastic surgery? Or are planning on doing this?
I have a few friends recently who have had procedures done. One had a VERY bad experience, resulting in many complications including infection.
If you have had surgery of some kind, was it free of complications? Are you happy with your decision? What price did you pay for your procedure?
Personally I have always been interested in breast implants. I am a small Bcup, would like to be a full C. I have a small frame as well, though my body stores fat around my waist. I am 5'2 and 119 lbs. Musclular butt (I ride horses - seems to be the miracle butt-builder, because I have a good firm one, and can count the number of times I ahve actually 'worked' it at the gym :P). But my breasts are small in comparison to the rest of my body. My boyfriend is fully on board (though he says he thinks they're great just the way they are), and has even offered to pay for half or more of thre procedure if its something I really want.
Thoughts? Experiences?

I don't think it's worth it.  It's not worth the risk.  A couple of boobs are really so important?  You won't be young and beautiful forever anyway, a body is just a vessel.  A B cup to a C is not that much different, and a B cup is plenty.  My dad just had surgery.  It was the first time I've ever known anyone close who had surgery.  It was extremely scary watching him go through it, and then he ended up with complications and had to have another surgery.  He is still not well.  Do you really want to put yourself at risk just for some boobs?  Now if you had a mastectomy or something, I could understand that more.  I still don't think I'd get implants though.  You know that they do need to be replaced and redone after about ten years right?

If I had a magic wand, there are things I would change about myself, but plastic surgery is not a magic wand.  What if it doesn't turn out how you wanted?  What if there are complications?

I did know that they had to be redone eventually, though i was unaware that it had to be redone that soon after. Idk, I still think I would like it done. i did a bit of research, and it seems like the stats are pretty good for successful procedures... Anyone else? Message me if you don't feel confortable admitting it to the CC world? ;)

I have no had any work done but I did just run into a girl that I havent seen since high school and noticed her beautiful amazingly new nose.

Not that she was in any way ugly before but her nose was large and just didnt fit her face. Now its awesome and she looks soooo good.

Its scary that there are so many complications that can happen. But honestly I feel like it can be a good thing for people. I dont know much about getteing boobs done even tho every one of my cousins (4) have gotten them done. I know there were no complications for them. They all love their new boobs.

Do you know what they paid? I actually know someone who has a breast augmentation booked for October in Mexico (she planned an extra long holiday there so she can recover in the fun and sun), and the price is quite low. Then again, I don't think I would want to go there for anything like that, personally...
I live in Canada as well.

I'm generally against most forms of cosmetic surgery, but I'm giving my stomach 3 years to recover from insane weight gain, pregnancy, and weight loss. If the skin is still ugly and hanging, I'm having a tummy tuck.

2 of my friends did it and were happy with it.  I would never do it.  It's not worth the risk of possibly being horribly disfigured or even dying for the sake of vanity.  Sure there are things I don't like about myself but I would prefer to work on the inside, and accepting myself for who I am, rather than putting myself thru torture to conform to some ideal body image.

Sounds like a bad idea. Big breasts are out of fashion too. I know it's a crazy world. I just had surgery on my knee and my body was totally shocked and miserable and bloated. I couldn't understand why anyone would ever want elective surgery except if you have a harelip or something equally disfiguring. I would definitly get a pushup bra or a corset for vavoom and be glad that you can wear any kind of top you want with the smaller (very chic) top that you have.

Definitely!  Big boobs aren't all they're cracked up to be.  There are lots of things I cannot wear (I am a large C/small D) that my smaller chested friends look really cute in... or if I try to wear it I just look slutty.  :)

Horseback riding tends to be a rather strenuous activity, I would expect that a smaller cup would be much easier on your body. I have a C and I'm constantly having to strap them down when I go riding...definitely the ultimate butt builder.  Cool

I've never had anything done myself.  I've seen enough breast implants that go wrong and/or look terrible that I'd venture to say surgery of any kind is not where you want to penny pinch.  If you're really serious about wanting to do this, please do your research.  Find a reputable doctor.  Talk to people who have done it.  Make sure you actually get to see the work this doc has done for others.  Most reputable docs can either set you up with a former patient to talk to them and/or have plenty of pictures of their work so you know what you're paying for.  Also keep in mind that this is an invasive surgery and needs to be treated as seriously as any other surgery.

I can't imagine riding a horse with larger boobs. Ouch. :s

I'm not a fan of plastic surgery and I don't care if others do it. But I would hate to say "my boobs are fake" or something about me is fake. I don't even dye my hair and I've never wore fake nails! I have dyed my hair when younger though, but not a natural color.

There's tons on me I'd like to change but, this is the way I am, the way I was born and if some stranger doesn't like it.. well F them. >8) It took me a long time to love my faults, I still get annoyed sometimes but I learned that THIS IS ME.

I don't know anyone that had elective plastic surgery. My stepdad had his eyelids done but it was a medical condition in which the lid didn't lift open all the way and obscured his vision. It's a plastic surgery, but his insurance covered it because he had a medical reason. He was very swollen and black and blue... he wore sun glasses all the time because he felt uncomfortable. Now that it's healed he looks perfectly normal. :)

When I get to my goal weight, and my boobs haven't shrunk, then I will have surgery to shrink them, because right now, I always have back pain and I get rashes underneath them in the summer. I was a B cup once and then C from birth control and then D to DD from weight gain. I still have those bras.

Good luck with your surgery, I don't think you should do it because a B cup is perfect and you should love what life has given you naturally. :)

I want to get breast implants after I have kids.  I am a super small A and want to be a full B or C, so nothing extreme.  I think body mods are a good way of expressing yourself.  I have a few piercings and a tattoo and plan on getting many more tattoos.  My hair is always dyed, I paint my nails, and I wear makeup.   I am not ashamed of how I alter myself, but I don't go around showing my tattoo or talking about how much makeup I wear.  It does kinda bother me sometimes when I get negative comments(I had someone tell me my tattoo was stupid once) but I try to just brush it off. For whatever reason, these modifications make me happy.

While plastic surgery is more extreme and could have complications, its has the same social implications as dying your hair, getting a tattoo, or putting on makeup.  I think you should do it if it is really what you want.  You know the risks and you know the rewards, so now you just have to weigh them out in your own mind.

If you get them, you will probably get comments from family and friends as well as complete strangers.  Some will love them, some won't care, and some will hate them.  Just be prepared for the bad ones and try not to let it bother you too much.

Oh I don't consider tattoos or piercings the same as plastic surgery. That's body ART! ;P Heehee.

I agree that the social implications are the same. Personally, I don't care what people do, but for me, I don't like having anything "fake" or labelled as "fake". That is just me!

If it makes a person more happy and feel more confident and their life becomes easier because of it then by all means, do it! ;D

People who make negative comments are jealous. There is no other reason. They're jealous because they don't have it or won't do it because they're scared, imo. Personally, I always admire people who are "different" or "unique" in their appearance, usually on purpose (ie tattoos, piercings, hair dye).

Why is it different?  It is certainly more extreme, time intensive, and potentially hazardous, but I still don't understand how one is "fake" while the other is art.

Because it is impossible to be born with piercings and tattoos while you are changing something genetic, something you are born with. It is just me that feels this way ABOUT ME. I don't feel this way about other people because I don't care what they do. And support them just the same.

hmm, one could argue that tattoos are changing the color of your skin, which you were born with, and sometimes, with birthmarks.  I am glad you don't really care either way with other people, I am just curious why you have personally differentiated these things.  I think it's interesting.  A lot of people seem to think the opposite of you I think...that tattoos and piercings are f'ed up because we weren't born with them and that plastic surgery and makeup are just altering things we already have, so its more natural, and therefore, ok.

And since I was born with a major LACK of boobies, does that fit into the artful body mod section?  hehe!

If it makes you happy, makes you feel sexy and confident then I support ya. ;D

It's like one of those things where, other people do it and it's ok, but you wouldn't do it. It doesn't have to be tattoos, piercings, or surgery. Could be food choices, like omnivores vs vegetarians etc.

I don't really think tattoos are changing your skin color, because it can be removed and your skin color will still be there. It's just ink deep into the skin, isn't it?

Personally, I think I was born to have tattoos and piercings, does that count? ;D lol
