Body retaliating from extra calories consumed yesterday

Quote  |  Reply

Yesterday at lunch I splurged.  My office had a Cinco De Mayo lunch brought in from my favorite Mexican restaurant.  I was a bit anxious before but enjoyed the lunch…maybe too much but it was good.  I got right back on the wagon and ate well/healthy at dinner and again today (breakfast & lunch and have good dinner planned).  I had a decent work out last night.  I could have done more, but was exhausted for some reason last night, but I’m satisfied with what I did.

This morning I had god awful gas pains.  They finally subsided after some herbal tea and tums.  Now I’ve have been going #2 since the later part of the morning.  I feel better (the cramps are gone) with the exception of being tired of going back and forth to the bowl. (sorry if too graphic or gross)

This happened to me the last time I splurged…my body seems to force those extra calories consumed out quickly.

I'm not quite sure what you're looking for.  Most people whine about a weight gain after a splurge.  I'd be thankful that your body is at least cooperating with you, even with the frequent visits to the potty and excessive gas!

Getting back on track is wonderful!  I commend you on that.  Cinco De Mayo only meant it was May 5th for me.  I have no social nor professional life at the moment, so the temptation of celebrating wasn't there.  Good luck to you.  Keep it up.  Gas is only temporary and #2 is a blessing in disguise!

Hey there,

I had the same problem last Monday. My wife and I went to a play in L.A. and since I've started watching what I eat we havn't went out much. That day I had a huge Italian sauage sandwich potato salad and a regular cook. For dinner was a New York style 10" pepperoni pizza all by myself, and then I ate the other half of my wifes roast beef sandwich. Then topped it off with a cherry cream cheese danish. I figured I ate around 4000 calories that day.

Monday at work I had to use the restroom six or seven times. My stomach was killing me.

I believe this is all do to me eating correctly for so long and then suddenly I intake 4000 calories and my body just says WTF?

The nice thing is; it can serve as a reminder not to over eat. Sort of like the memory of a really bad hangover can keep you from drinking to much at the next party.
