I can't figure out what I am. I used to think hourglass when I weighed 30 more pounds but now I am very small waist down. Skinny legs and a barely there butt. I still have a chest though. So what would this be considered? Funnel? haha What are you and what do you think the advantages are to your shape?
I carry it everywhere. Does that make me "tree" shaped? I guess it's an advantage that no one part of me is so much bigger than the others.
Sarah, I think that may be apple shaped. Not sure. I'm similar in that I'm bigger on top, but I also don't have a distinct waist. For that reason I call myself a rectangle with legs. haha!!
Body Type Quiz
Not true though - you are supposed to use percentages - Hips to Waist to Bust - The hourglass figure is 2/3 - your waist is approx. 2/3 of your Hip/Bust measurements.
If it skews to your Bust/Waist being 2/3 of Hips, then your are pear.
If there is not much of a diffence between the three, you are an apple.
I think Cone is the term used if your Waist/Hips are 2/3 of your Bust.
I always felt I had a v. good shape.... a circle :D
I'm just an orange- better yet, a giant grapefruit. I'm round all-around. Like one of those punching bags for kids than when you push over, they just roll and pop back up.
I'm a roley poley!!!!
crothwell - you are a "shape" no matter what size you are. Sometimes, it's hard to tell UNTIL you lose weight, actually. I am (and have always been and will forever be) a "spoon" or "pear". It's just how my bones are made. I've made peace with it, and love it.
The advantages: I have the least probability of having heart disease! My booty rocks! And certain populations of men really appreciate my shape. If I worked them harder, I'd have a great set of sixpack abs that everyone could see. As long as I'm not wearing a bathing suit or short-shorts that highlight my thighs and hips, I look skinnier than my weight would suggest. :)
The disadvantages: Because my waist is disproportionately small, I have an impossible time buying pants (I have to have them made). The thighs are the hardest place from which to dislocate fat, according to scientific studies. And I'd love to add some boobs and be an "hourglass" instead.
Trouble with being a spoon/pear/uneven if when you finally start loosing weight off bum, hips and thighs i end up with no boobs and my chest bones sticking out.

I'm a CONE! Except that I have no boobs. Wide set shoulders, thick arms, stupid gut. Upper body strength is all there, but when it comes to squats/lunges, my legs need some more power. It's funny how right on the quiz was when it came to that...I definitely used to have to lower my weights considerably when it came time to working on my lower body...but I'm almost working both ends equally...Almost!
But I am pretty flexible all over, thanks to yoga!
I'm guessing I'll still be a cone when all this weight loss is done? Just a smaller one? Or perhaps my waist will get smaller...currently at a 36-29-36....Can I make that a 36-26-36? Ahhh, I guess we shall see.
