my body's going out of control - rapid weight gain??
After two months without a period, following going off my BC (Diane 35), it's finally come back. However, over the past two months I've put on 10 lbs! and almost over night. I haven't changed my eating habits (I'm good, I swear), I work out 5 days/week for about an 1.5hrs each, but yet my weight still keeps climbing. I don't recognize my body, I don't fit into any of my clothes, I'm seriously getting depressed about this. I thought the return of my period would be the key, but it's day 3 and I've gone up 2 lbs (seriously, this makes me want to cry). My lower abdomin is protruding, my thighs are huge, I have so much less energy to work out than I use to. What's going on with me??? :(
I'm so sorry! I completely understand why you are upset. You would have to eat a lot go go up that much in fat, and it sounds like you are good about eating and working out. You sure you are eating enough?? It sounds like it could be water weight. You sure you are not pregnant?? You can get a "period" when you are pregnant.
If not I would go see your doctor.
I hope everything works out. Please don't be depressed- everything has an explanation.
I am on Diane 35, and a LOT of people who go off it get bad acne
I am wondering if you got acne when you went off it? I want to go off it eventually but do not want to get bad skin!
SEE YOUR DOCTOR because no one on this site is qualified to help you, peoples experiences are the only thing that can help you on this site and you are individual and your body needs professional analysis.
Hi, I didn't start taking Diane 35 because of acne, in fact, I had no acne problems before hand - just took it because of a suggestion from a friend and did not consult a doctor - something I should have done to possibly avoid the situation I'm in now. Still, I haven't had any acne since I went off the pill 2 months ago.
My period is now over, but it was hardly ever here - was way too light and I didn't shed a pound. I'm still so bloated, but don't know which doctor i should see. Ugh, this is so frustrating.
you sure you aren't pregnant??
Go to your doc and get checked out. And yeah, take a pregnancy test if you haven't already. Regardless of what precautions you were using, if you've been sexually active it's a possibility. the lack of energy really dings a bell...
I've taken two pregnancy tests and both were negative, but the way my abdomin is sticking out, well, it's just not normal. This morning I woke up and weighed 2lbs more - making it a 12 lb gain in 5 weeks. It seems so petty, but each time I look at myself I start crying, I feel totally out of control.
What doctor should I see? I live far away from home, so my family doctor isn't an option. Should it be a gynocologist? I did have my period, kind of, so i don't know if there's another reason I'm retaining water (I hope that's what it is).
You can have your period when you are pregnant. Pregnancy tests can be wrong- I know someone who had 5 false results before she got a positive. Go to your gyno. Tell him/her what's going on including the fact that you were on bc and are now off. If he/she says you seem ok go to a doctor. You shouldn't have to watch yourself gain weight for no reason and get depressed! I would see a gyno first.![]()
So I spoke to my gyno and he said it's just my body retaining liquid and that I should avoid going back on the pill for a long time. I don't know what I've done to myself, but my weight is fluctuating up a down each day around 4 to 5 pounds never getting anywhere close to my normal weight. My gyno didn't encourage it, but my boyfriend, also a doctor, suggested I take a diruretic for a week or two. I'm not a big fan, but I'm getting so depressed about not having any control over my weight and looking at this huge stomach which doesn't seem to be my own, so I'm giving it a try.
arghh
I hope everything works out! At least now you know it's not something dangerous or anything.
Instead of taking a diuretic, why not just drink some water? It sounds counter-productive but it can help flush out sodium in your body and is good for your overall health. You could have iced or hot tea as well.
Stay hydrated and relax. Maybe do some pilates or relaxation yoga. That may help to calm you down.
My body gets all flakey too when taking different birth controls. The Depo shot was horrible for me but great for other women. Just give yourself some time to let your body adjust. If it's still being flakey or for your own piece of mind, go see your doctor. Heck, it would be a good excuse to get an annual physical.
