I started this dieting the middle of March and have gained 6 lbs. Maybe I would have gained more without the dieting though. I find it nearly impossible to do 1200 I'm doing around 1500 sometimes a little less. I've been eating a lot of fruit and vegtables. something new for me. They upset my system and cause c onstipation so I will cut down on them and try to drikn more water. Maybe cod liver oil would help? Is everybody out there suffering on the 1200 calories?

it is very hard for me to eat only 1200 cal i normally am between 1400-1500 a day and with out exercize that is only a deficit of 100-200 a day but i look at it this way it is still better than nothing. it just takes a longer time to lose but i am gettig there.
and i try to eat fruit or veggies for snacks but if it is upsettig yor system you might be adding to much at one time. try to eat 1 or 2 aday then in a week or so add one more a day that might help the transition. that is what i had to do. in fact i was only eating 1/2 a serving twice a day at first and have slowly added more and am up to 2-3 full servins most days.
hope this helps some

Thanks for your letter. It is nice just to hear from somebody when you feel blue!
yeah i know its popular for friut to be the common health food but i've actually cut it out after having it in and seeming to see no results in terms of weight loss. Without it I've done alot better. I instead rely on veggies, but keeping those low too, only about 3 carrots a day at lunch, and a couple of cherry tomatoes. you just have to figure out what works for your body, not what people say should work. so try cutting out the fruit and only keeping the veggies for a while to see where that gets you. but most importantly don't get discouraged till atleast a month has passed, cause sometimes it can take 4-6 wks for your body to display the changes that are inevitably taking place probably even now, you just have to give it time. it'll be worth it.
no reason to feel blue keep your spirits up! just keep trying the hard work does payoff in the end. i went being stuck at about 140 for well over a month then one day i was down like three lbs. it might take a while but we are here for you.
keep smiling your doing great!!

I'm trying to figure out how eating more fruits and vegetables could actually cause constipation. Fruits and vegetables are plentiful in fiber - a key nutrient in helping your body clean itself out. You should definitely include a lot of water, but I doubt the vegetables or fruit is causing the constipation - but then, I'm no doctor....
As for the calorie intake, whether or not you should to do 1200 depends on your body's needs. 1200 is the minimum needed for women just from normal activity, more is needed if you're exercising or if you have an active day. I would suggest that you use the CC tools to find out what your recommended calorie intake should be. (When I first started, I thought the less the better, but as it turns out, my most successful weight loss was when I increased my intake to 1600-1700.)
Good luck!!

Try tomatoes and mushrooms fried in no more that 1 tsp oil with toast for breakfast. With fresly ground black pepper and fresh basil it's delicious. Use a grain bread for your toast and if you have to add spread, mix a little butter or margarine with a tiny amount of marmite. Add a glass of fruit juice and you have what is my favourite breakfast and sets me up for the day and is 2 veg and 1 fruit all sorted at once. You should aim for 5 veg and 2 fruit per day. Remember too that some fruits can be quite costly when counting calories. I can't be doing with weighng so I use my hand as a portion control. I cup my hand and what sits easily in that space, I use as a portion guide. It works for me. Good luck and keep trying.
dieting helps yes...but exercise is also important...i found that running really helps me and dancing too especially hip-hop
eating 1500 calories is very good..that's what i'm doing...and what you're eating is fine too...but eating less won't burn off the extra weight...exercise is helpful there =)
