Not sure if you already did this, but you could try 'diet books' in the search option in forums section of CC. Also, what I like to do is go to amazon.com and read the reviews of books that I'm looking into buying to see if I should get it or not. I'll then check between amazon.com, ebay.com, and half.com to see which is the most inexpensive. You can enter diet or weight loss under books at amazon if you don't have a particular book in mind. Hope this helps :)

Honestly, I have very little faith in diet books - any that catch your eye are designed to do just that - to sell, not because they necessarily are any better than others.

Have you read the information at the top of this forum, in the "Read This First" thread? Lots of good information, and it comes at just the right price, too.

That is a good point, amethyst...thanks for sharing.

take your own advice. In one of your diary entries you state you bought a whole bunch of weight waatchers books and such and never even looked at them..... Everyone knows how to eat healthy it is not a secret! save your money.

I think SOME "diet books" can provide some info for people who aren't sure how to eat healthy but you have to take them with a grain of salt. There are some good low-fat/healthy recipe books that are probably worth your money rather than diet books. As Amethyst pointed out there are a LOT of good tips on CC that come at the right price!

Really, ALL sustainable, healthy eating habits come down to:

Eat in moderation;

Eat a good mix of carbs (veggies, fruit and whole grains), protein (lean meat, low-fat dairy, soy, legumes/beans, eggs), and good fats (polyunsaturates like olive oil, avacado, nuts);

Limit sodium, processed foods, artificial additives, high sugar foods and fast foods (even those prepared foods labelled "low fat" or "low carb") and

Drink water!!!
