Booster Juice: Healthy or Not?

Quote  |  Reply

Hey everyone!

I'm just wondering, is Booster Juice healthy? I know it has a lot of fruits and vitamins but would it be something you consider a diet food? On CC it doesn't have a grade, so I was just wondering.

i would say its "healthy" but also quite high in calories. they have a nutritition binder at each store and i remember them all being around 400cals atleast. theyre very high in carbs but also in vitamens. i wouldnt drink them every day but i defintaly think there are much worse choices out there.

Thanks!

That's very true they are up there in calories, I always wanted to ask if they add syrup because fruits aren't that high in calories. Every place adds syrup to drinks these days.

they do add sorbet to must of them, so that would be i think the worst part. other than that theyre fruit juice and fruit. im reasonably sure you can ask to sub yogurt for sorbet? might make it a bit healthier.
Booster Juice is SUPER HEALTHY!  The calories are about 400 per drink, but that's pure berries and fruit guys.  They don't add sugar, it's just straight berries/fruit or pure sorbet and maybe some frozen yogurt or soy.  Those drinks are huge, 400 calories is actually really good, there is like 4 servings of fruit/berries per drink.  Think about it, one glass of orage juice had about 120 cal per 250mL.  Those things are about 750mL per juice.  That's not so bad, it's just a lot of smoothie!

Yay! I was hoping someone would say that! I actually truly love the place and I think even if it wasn't healthy I would still go there all the time...

I love booster juice. They are definitely healthy.  They are pretty much a meal on their own.  I sometime grab one for lunch if I forget to bring a lunch to school. I'm lucky we have a booster juice on campus. A healthy, easy, pretty reasonably priced and 400 calorie lunch is amazing!

To offset the sugars a bit, you could get a protein booster juice, i think the website says the 'bananas a whey' has 30 g protein  :) happy drinking

A balanced lunch should have more than just fruit calories. There is little to no protein in the fruit shakes. A balanced lunch would include grains and a protein source too. You're better off splitting a Booster Juice smoothie with a friend (because those smoothies are huge!) and having a turkey sandwich with it.

its fine if your having it in place of a meal, but a having it as a snack probobly isn't the best choice. think of it this way, if you go for an hour run then go to booster juice, that run was pretty much pointless, your going to gain all you've lost from that run and probobly more. your better off just having water, drink 3-5 glasses a day and you'll start feeling and looking better within weeks!
