Bored with breakfast
I don't have much time in the morning while getting ready for work. Usually I eat cereal and have coffee - For the most part since last summer I have been eating a serving of Special K Protein with skim milk. I like it because it seems to keep me full longer than any other cereal because of the protein. Problem is I am really bored with it. I like eggs but I just don't want to wake up early and spend time making them - I like to put whatever vegetables I have with them scrambled or omlet. I do not like oatmeal - I like cream of wheat and I have the microwave one but its such a small serving I don't feel full. Today I had a weight watchers bagel with whipped philadelphia cream cheese - It's been an hour and a half and I'm still good... I usually eat a south beach protein cereal bar between 11-12 as a snack before lunch at 1:30. On the weekends I eat more fun breakfasts... but any advice for other cereals or any other ideas?? Thanks.
A big breakfast is good.
Egg beaters will not harm anyone who eats them for breakfast. They are a healthy alternative to eggs and adding all the veggies you'd like provides you with protein and carbs... as well as some cheese. . . you got some healthy fats. A meal like that goes a long way and keeps the calories low.

I have never tried egg beaters. I usually buy egg whites by organic valley. What is the difference?
Egg beatersare made with egg whites. Some brands of low-cal egg substitute have a minimal yolk for colouring, others use artificial colour. Also, egg beaters have been pasteurized, which means you can safely use them in recipes that do not call for cooking, whereas egg whites should be fully cooked to be considered safe. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the explanation. so they are made with egg whites ? are there other ingredients?
I only buy the egg beaters. Other egg substitutes seem to have more "fillers". The egg beaters say 99% egg whites, with color and corn oil. (maybe that's why I never have to use non-stick spray? hehe) 25 calories per quarter cup= 1 egg. I love it.
Another thing about the egg substitutes is while they only last about a week in the fridge, you can freeze them if you don't use them too often and thaw overnight. I like that, so they don't get wasted. After all, they're not that cheap!
