Really Bored!

Quote  |  Reply

Hi friends...

I have been on this diet for the last 4 months.. i have lost about 16lbs but i am really bored.. i have a hormonal problem and its quiet difficult for me to lose weight it was fine before but lately I feel unmotivated when i dont lose any weight. Also I have been dreaming to eat whatever I want how much I want whenever I want like before. I know i cant do this but its just that I am too bored of dieting. Does anyone know how to get over this feeling? What can I do to make dieting more fun?

I know how you feel..my weight loss has been going very slow regardless of what all I've been doing. Last night I had such a temptation to just order some Papa Johns and binge on a whole pie, but I said no and it would hold me back from my original goal.

When I get like this, I just remind myself of what motivated me in the first place to feel and look good. I don't want to go back to feeling guilty for the choices I make or the result of what the mirror presents in front of me. I remind myself that I can do this and to not give up just like every other obstacle in life you have to fight for what you want and most things in life do not come easy. If I may slip...then so be it..one day is no big deal.

To make it more interesting try one new healthy food or recipe you've never had and see if you like it and add it into your diet. Also experiment with different spices and herbs it can really add something fresh to an ordinary meal. Good luck! *hugz. :)

Don't think of yourself on a diet... because they are temporary, miserable and restrictive.   Think more about your healthier lifestyle .... because that's more fun, rewarding and longer-term.   Longer-term because losing weight is the easy part, believe it or not.  Maintaining the loss for the rest of your life requires that you enjoy the life you choose and you keep working at it.

Success is so much more than a number on a scale.   Think back to where you started... Do you feel more energetic than you did then?  Do you look better?  Do you feel healthier?  Do your clothes fit better?  Is your skin clearer?....  If you're still down in the dumps try the 'rucksack' method.  Fill a rucksack with 16lbs-worth of bottles and cans and put it on your back.  Walk around with it on for a while... go up and down the stairs, etc.  When you take it off you'll really appreciate the progress you've made.

You can eat anything you want within a healthier lifestyle.  As long as your food choices are 80-90% healthy and nutritious, the other 10-20% can be purely for fun.  Watch the portions (or count the calories) obviously if you need to lose weight.   But concentrate on getting pleasure out of everything you eat.  If you cook... try new recipes and new foods that are fun to make and delicious to eat.  If you don't cook... now is the time to learn how Smile  Same goes for your exercise programme.  If it's boring, try something new.  Exercise doesn't have to take place in a gym to be effective.  You can dance, cycle, swim, learn archery, do tai-chi.... all kinds of ideas.

First step today... map out what you're going to do tomorrow that's completely different to what you've done before.   No meals the same as anything you've tried in the past.  A completely new exercise that you've never done.   Keep it interesting, keep it varied and you'll keep going.  Best of luck
