bottom line on coffee??

Here is my question--should I drink it or not if I want to lose weight.  I have heard so many conflicting things.  I enjoy making my own cappacino's at home with fat free milk, splenda and Starbuck's sugar-free cinnamon dulce syryp (it rocks!).  Here is the thing though, I am not one of those people who needs to to function, but I do enjoy it.  HELP!!

It depends on how many calories are in your coffee.  No one food or drink is going to help you lose, or prevent you from losing.  Moderation is the key.

Too much caffeine can be dehydrating however.

If you can handle all the sugars that are in milk, then why not have a treat every now and again?  Also, just because the syrup is sugar-free, you need to pay attention to the glycemic index and the sugar alcohols.   Either way, the mind is a powerful tool.  Enjoy your coffee and be happy about it.  Shame is gluttonous.

I believe if you try to supress your cravings, you'll end up just eating more to compensate. There was an article on WebMD that showed coffee contains fiber, and there are some newly discovered health benefits.

Luckily I hate flavored and sweet coffee - but I love it just plain hot and black.  I drink a pot (yes 12 cup pot) of coffee each morning.  I drink decaf drinks rest of the day.  I don't think its effected my weight loss one way or another.
