Boyfriends Sisters Wedding in 10 days!
Hi All - I could use some help with this one =o)
My boyfriend's sisters wedding is in 10 days from tomorrow. This is the first time that I will be seeing his ENTIRE family and will be introduced as his girlfriend. I want to look awsome...what I would do in the past before weddings is literally not eat A THING for 5-6 days. Unhealthy, I know - but it would mentally let me prep for it.
Is there any type of 'healthy' 10 day diet I can go about trying - just to try and lose a few lbs???????
Have any of the low carb or juice diet, or veggie diets ever worked for any of you in a 10 day span?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated! THanks!
Eat as close to the earth as possible... clean eating, lots of fruit, veggies, healthy whole grains... drink lots of water, up your water intake, drink half your weight and up it 8 oz for every extra 20lbs you may carry...that's the rule I always read... good luck, but don't starve yourself, you'll look gaunt and no color on your cheeks is not cute ;)
In 10 days you could lose 1-1.5 lbs of fat. Do you really think they'll be able to tell? Especially since they'll have nothing to compare it to?
If you show up after not eating a real meal for 10 days, you'll look unhealthy, unenergetic, and will probably get sick if you have any alcohol. All of that will leave a much less positive impression on his folks than showing up, looking great and happy to be there.
Not one single person i know who has ever tried a quick fix detox ever A) stuck to it as its too extreme, B) looked better for trying it.
Sorry ! X
i agree with everyone above. starving yourself for 10 days won't do well, BUT, if you really want to do something, I say stick to shape shifter's ideas. also, i once read an article in Cosmo that in order to appear that you have lost 5lbs in a week to do the following:
- LOTS of water
- Lots of fruit and veggies and mix in some lean meats
- Stay away from things that make you bloat, i.e. coffee, bread, rice, sodas etc
- take an antacid pill which will make your tummy flatter
- do 3 sets of 20 push ups and 3 sets of 20 lunges throughout the week
hopefully this helps!
I think you should try and put on some weight. That way the NEXT time you see them, you'll have lowered expectations and can wow them. If you lose weight the first time you see them, then from now on when you aren't super skinny they're going to whisper to themselves "Wow, she's really let herself go."
Get a fabulous outfit that shows off your shape to the best, head to the hairdressers and the beauty parlour. Eat well and drink plenty of water so that you have a healthy glow. Agree with everyone else that you won't lose much weight in 10 days but you can look 7lbs lighter if you're well-groomed and well-dressed.
I might be over-simplifying but why are you trying to lose weight? You don't need to lose any. I looked at your picture in your gallery taken in July where you look GREAT but wrote "feeling gross" - you might have a self-esteem issue, not a body issue

I love it. That's a great solution. Too funny. ![]()
A high protein diet will take more weight off you quickly and (on me anyway) trim the waist and tummy. It is mostly because you lose a bunch of water, so you will regain most of the weight immediately after the wedding, but it is good for quickies like yours. I would just eat light and healthy for the next 5 days and then go high protein/low carb for the last 4-5 days.

I agreed with all except the antacid suggestion. Taking an antacid generates gas in your stomach (antacid + acid = carbon dioxide gas) - the exact opposite from what you want if you're looking to appear slim.
Is my sodium intake too low?
You have nothing to worry about because sodium deficiency is extremely rare. In fact, there is not even an recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA... Read more
