Let Us Brag!

So today I was thinking as I was warming up for some cardio and checking out my muscular legs and tight(er) butt Tongue out, that right now is probably the most "buff" my body has ever been period.   I've been the yo-yo-crash-dieter for most of my teenage and adult life (I'm 37)!  It would take about 3 months (maybe less) to lose whatever weight I wanted and then I'd quit exercising all together and just go back to my old eating habits thinking, "I am now the skinny chick."  Fast forward and 6 months later, I'd be "the fat chick." lol

This is the longest I've EVER gone with a consistent exercise program.  I work out between 4-6 days per week and let me tell you, I am DAMN proud!!!  What are you proud of today??

Congrats on realizing that you need to incorporate exercise into daily life!

I am very proud of the fact I am approaching a year of daily exercise and am now comfortable with a complete lifestyle change. Lost 48lbs and have maintained a steady 190lb weight since March. My health stats are all back to normal meaning low BP(105/75), Lower Cholesterol(was 250 now 200), resting heart rate at 52-55, and my peak heart rate when hard exercising is rarely over 160.

Best part is the daily situps, pushups, etc have given me a flat stomach at 55yo and reduced my waist from 42" to 35". Life is good and I feel great.

Can I just be proud of myself for remaining strong throughout this entire weight loss journey? Of never giving up or throwing in the towel. And for always seeking for support at the times I feel weak. Just proud of ME!

x17star17x-- you can be proud of anything you like!  :)  You should feel proud that you are hanging in there and giving it your best shot.  It can be a bumpy ride at times so hang on! Laughing

Miket53-- what accomplishments!!  Wow!  I hope to be in your club soon (the one year mark of regular exercise).  You've obviously done wonders for your health and having flat abs at ANY age is braggable.  I bet you feel so much better now than you did a year ago.  I know I do and I'm only 7 months in. :)

Devilish Patty-- thank you for feeling sorry enough for my "0" response thread to reply lol.  Exercise does wonders for the body and mind and I hope to maintain this way of living for the rest of my life.

As for the rest of you-- what's up man-- 3 stinking replies (great replies though you 3)???  The rest of you aren't proud of ANYTHING or are you all just too humble for your own good???

I'm proud that I haven't weighed myself in 5 days, and I'm okay with that.

I'm also VERY VERY proud that I complete the 4 hour mountain/rock climbing expedition I unknowingly set out on last friday (i was told we were going "hiking" psh, yeah right!)...there are details and some pictures in my blog.

Okay, I'll go.lol

I'm 15 and back in February I started to get pretty chubby back when I was 14. I have had problems with being a little bit over weight my whole life up until now. I was never FAT. I was getting there in about February and I was real depressed about it. Well, I kept saying "Why me!? Everyone else does just what I do!" Well kind of but not really. I just sat around and ate crap just like everyone else but most of those everyone elses did something to burn off the crap.

So I never even set up a diet or exercise plan or have any clue that my life was about to change soon. I started to jump rope, At first just groups of 300 hundred slow ones in 3 groups. Then I got better and started doing more for longer and longer. Now I do 6 groups of 10 minutes of jumping rope at a moderate pace. I have lost about 25 pounds and am at where I was only in my dreams. I didn't even know that I was going to change this much. My eating habits have changed completely. Nothing changed all at once. The change was gradual and I got my info on the internet...(mostly CC...THANKS CC!!)

I'm proud of turning my life around and almost looking how I want to look and have raised my self-esteem a ton. I no longer have to worry about making myself look unfat or anything. Because I AM unfat lol. More like fit. I feel at least 5 times more healthy than I did 4+ months ago.

Oh I'm back!

I am proud that I stepped on the scale this morning and didn't flip a lid over my 5 pound gain. It was 4th of july weekend! I was at home and with the mom. I am proud that I KNOW it's not 5 actual pounds, most of it is water and will go away. I am proud to feel like I'm not a failure over chewing :)

I'm also proud I've worked out 2 days this week, and today will be my third. And I look FORWARD to it. Woo ;)

shg_chiquita-- Oh my!  I would be proud of that too.  I don't think I've ever burned 2200 cals doing anything.  That place looks really pretty too.  That is wonderful.

bennyboy-- OMG!  I cannot imagine jump roping for that long.  That is awesome and I bet you are very fit.  Your endurance shows that all by itself.  Not having to be self-conscious about your body at all times is a great feeling isn't it?  You are the "hot guy" ha.  Congratulations on reaching your goals and have fun attaining new onesWink.

Coolbeans x17star17x!  You are right about the "weight" too.  Most of that is simply water retention from eating bar-b-q or chips or whatever you had.  I really didn't restrict myself at all over the weekend so I know that I'm up a few "pounds" as well.   It will all come off in no time and I'm not gonna flip out about it either :).

Have a great work out later.  I plan on hitting it hard today too.

I'm proud of my work out routine too! 4-6 days per week!! It's not easy, but I do it and I love myself for it.   And I'm proud I have changed my eating habbits.  So far I've only lost about 20 pounds, with another 40 to go.  But I feel good!!!  I'm proud of taking steps to be healthy.  I'm proud of my self-control.  I'm proud of my discipline, that's something I thought I would NEVER say about myself.

Be proud of your accomplishments, proud of your efforts.  KUDOS!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to everyone who is changing their lives for the better!

I got on the scale today and realized that I've lost 14 lbs since the end of May/beginning of June! I'm proud that I did it in a healthy way and kept those inner demons at bay this time!

I am EXTREMELY proud of myself for exercising 5 days/week for a full year now! And not only that, but being at a place where I LOVE it and look forward to the exercise rush! It's no longer a chore and I no longer see it as a weight loss tool, rather an important element in healthy living.

But of course....I am most proud of my 112 pounds loss (still have about 35 to go!). :)

I like this thread! All of you have such amazing things to be proud of!

I am proud of losing 20 lbs so far. 20! I never thought I would be telling someone I had lost 20 lbs. That may not seem like a lot but the most I had ever lost before that was 10 lbs and I'm sure it was mostly water weight. Haha. I still have 30 to go to get to my goal weight but I am so proud of how far I have gotten so far!

Another thing I am proud of is my motivation and perseverance since April when I started my new healthy lifestyle. At first I needed pictures of Scarlett Johansson around my room and on my computer desktop to keep me motivated but all I need now is myself. I feel so much better and look so much better and that is motivation enough to keep me from losing focus of my goal.

I am proud that even though I have not been to the gym since April, I have continued to lose weight simply by the changes I have implemented in my diet.  Now I am not proud that I have not gone to the gym, but once this budget project is over, I hope to get back on it.

January 6 - 304 lbs

July 10      - 258 lbs

vlinderdawn-- You're schedule sounds similar to mine and you are right, it's not easy!  There are plenty of days that I have to kick my own butt to get it up and moving, but I just grit my teeth and do it.  The rewards are well worth it.  Once I'm up and moving, I ALWAYS feel better afterward.  Congrats on your 20 pounds lost and have a great time reaching your goalLaughing.

livsmomma- 14lbs in less than 2 months!!   That is awesome and you will reach your goal in no time at that rate.  Keep up the good fight and stay healthy. Wink

anijig- 112 lbs???  That is amazing.  I have lost about 23 lbs so far and it has been a slow going process overall, but I am almost at my goal (about 5-10 lbs left).  You should be extremely proud!!  Laughing  People who've never struggled with weight in their lives have no idea how hard it is to take control of it.  I hope one day that I can share your genuine enthusiasm for exercise lol.  I must admit that I do it as part of a routine (it really is a "must" for me) and it is a rare occassion that I look forward to it.  I'm just proud that I make myself get up and go.  You're an inspiration!

mmahynar1-- what you talkin 'bout Willis???!!  20 lbs is a lot of weight!!  Do you remember when Oprah lost her weight the first time (I'm old) and she rolled out like 40 lbs of lard in a red wagon on stage??  I don't even like Oprah, but that image is permanently burned into my brainTongue out.  It is a lot of weight and you should feel very proud of that.  It takes a lot of dedication and drive.  I'm glad you took the pics of Scarlett down too.  You should be your own inspriation as you are one!  Isn't it great to see and feel the results of all your hard work?

jigglethehandle--man o man!  You started about the same time I did and you've lost so much weight in such a short time.  The gym hurts my budget as well so I do all my working out at home with free weights/Wii/medicine balls/cycling/walking/DVDs.  For you to lose weight by only making changes in your diet is admirable.  That would be VERY difficult for me.  I still like to "indulge" a wee bit too much.  Congratulations on your accomplishments!!Cool

I am right there with you. I am 35 I am down to 187 from 260 I exercise 1.5 hours 5 times a week. I am not quite where I want to be but I am lovin every minute of getting there. I get on the elipitcal trainer for 35 min sweating and these little bitty girls next to me cant even keep up. Great Work everyone!! Kiss

I remember the wagon of lard.. it is burned into my mind as well.  I joined CC in march at 240lbs and that is the number I refer to when I think of how much I have lost.  on July 10th I was weighed myself at 224.2.  This is the first time I think I have ever been below 225 since perhaps middle school or high school (class of 97).  But I showed my g/f my driver's license this weekend from just 2 years ago when I was 295 lbs, and she said she would 'not have dated that person, no matter his personality'.  It hurt a little but then I realized.. that I had lost over 70 lbs since then and I that doesn't matter if she would have dated me then, cause I am different person now.  A healthier person, and I am happy with myself.

I had a large Carvel Sundae with Mint chip and cherry vanilla Ice Cream over the 4th. 1st sweet since January. It was soooo good. Then I did 4 miles walking on Sunday, then 6 miles on Monday. Then I weighed myself and I had gained 1 lb over the 4th. By the end of the week I had lost that plus 1/2 for the week, walking. Thus far I've lost a total of 42 Lbs.

Great Job Bennyboy5! You are doing something that will benefit you for the rest of your life! I'm sure I'm correct in saying that we are all proud of you!

I am proud that I have gotten into all of my pre-pregnancy jeans, something that I never thought would happen. I also wore my string bikini this past weekend to the pool and my husband told me how sexy I looked! I actually look better than I did before I got pregnant 4 years ago!  I am leaner and more muscular and have lost 16 pounds since beginning in April.  YEAH!Cool
