Is bragging allowed?

Quote  |  Reply

I don't want to waste a lot of people's time is just that.....

TODAY I HIT 40 LBS LOST!!!! FOURTY!

That's like a slightly obese kindergartener.  I lost an entire small human being!

Now, just so that I don't feel like such an attention mongerer.....does anyone else want to brag about anything? Share, we can all celebrate together.  If someone else has something good I will eat a suger-free pudding in your honor.

Thank you everybody for all the congrats!! It's awesome sharing with others that are working on losing too, since you guys all really know what a struggle this was.  My friends here are happy for me....but they don't quite get it.  Good luck to everyone that is plateau-ing....you can do it!!!!

Congrats!  That's a job well done - losing a slightly obese kindergartener :)

Wow!  Congratz on the big 4-0 and to all of you who have already hit big milestones!  That's awesome and inspirational!  I love it when people post their success stories because it really motivates me to keep plugging away!  I am nearly at my 30 lb mark 2.5 lbs to go before I reach it) ... sometimes I feel as though I am never going to get there ... but then I read threads like this and it totally inspires me to keep going!  Thanks for bragging!!!  Wink

I too just hit the 40 lbs. down mark!!!!

YEAH!!!

Watch out 50, here we come!!!!Cool

If ya' done it.... it ain't braggin'

Congratulations!

Congratulations! That's a fantastic accomplishment and you have totally earned your bragging rights.

I am down 54 pounds and now weigh the least I have since 1992. Just a few more pounds and I'll weigh less than I have since I was pregnant with my 20 year old son.

Wow! Amazing!! What an accomplishment!!

I'm only down 4 pounds but it is SO encouraging to hear of others' success.

Way to go.

WELL DONE YOU

I love hearing all the success stories on here. It's what kept me around.

I'm going to brag too! I've lost 50lb in five years (which is surely slow and healthy enough for it to NEVER come back) and now I am posting in the maintenance forum and gazing starryeyed at myself in mirrors! From what I read on here and see sadly everything, a girl staring at her own naked body with a great big goofy smile on her face is even more of an achievement than 50lb!

Congrats. 40 pounds is like carrying around 4 sacks of potatoes. Try doing that one next time you're at the grocery store. It's not an easy task :) Brag until you get so tired of hearing congrats you gotta close the browser :)

==My brag==

I did a solid 60 minutes on the eliptical today! My heart stayed strong. I've been working up from 30 minutes all the way to 60. Woo woo go me!

I've also been maintaining my weight loss of 175 pounds. Yes, that's right, a big fat 175 pounds lost for over 16 months!!! I think thats my biggest brag :)

That is amazing!!! 175 pounds?  That's......that's a muscular man worth of weight.  You lost one entire Johnny Depp, or 4 kindergartners.  That is just WOW.  WOW.

Haha I would def not want to carry around 4 kindergarteners... but Johnny Depp on the other hand.. ;)

It's funny because my boyfriend weighs about 175 pounds, and he feels like a giant brick when he lays on me. Yay for never having to walk around with that attached to my body. 175 is just like losing 40, it just takes longer. Same steps.

Woo! *toots own horn* Gotta love CC's support.

Ummmm no comment on Johnny Depp (good, bad, or otherwise)...LOL  As for losing 175 lbs that is fantastic...and I totally agree with you...losing weight is the same process no matter the amount...eat right, exercise, and remember its a "lifestyle change" you are changing your life. ....but do it for YOU...

Again congrats to everyone...keep up the hard work...because it does become easier....trust me...I look forward to my workouts....and in the beginning its easy to find ways and others to sabotage your effort...EASY to find....so dont let them derail you...

I beat my plateau today. After 3 weeks of not losing any weight whatsoever I lost a fabby 4lbs this week.

Thats a total of 43lbs. !!

Well done! I very much want to brag and am so pleased to have an outlet for my bragging!

I have been using Calorie Counter since Christmas and have started doing a step aerobics class twice a week and yesterday was able to buy my first pair of size 8 trousers (I live in the UK so not sure what the US equivalent is). I quietly celebrated in the fitting room before launching myself at my partner when I got home from shopping - he thought I had been drinking as I was so excited and giggly!!

Have lost a stone in 3 months and feel better about myself than ever before. Only half a stone to go before I reach goal weight of 8 stone.

I think this has been the most enjoyable 'diet' I have ever followed and this website is fantastic.

Good luck to everyone else on here!

Bragging should definitely be allowed! Congratulations! "Eat less love more" is a beautiful philosophy!

I do not consider it bragging. You just feel so good about your accomplishment that in your own personal way you are saying "Hey I struggled with this for so long and now I have finally done it, I have lost 40 pounds"!. I know how you feel for I too have lost a few pounds after struggling for so many years, I have lost a total of forty five pounds. When I carry in a five gallon container of water I say to myself, no wonder I was tired all the time, carrying around this much weight. My goal is to lose another fifteen pounds by my wife's birthday which is four weeks away. Good luck to y'all in your goal of feeling better.

Congratulations to everybody!! I try to set many mini-goals. My first was to be under 200, then under 190, now to be under 180, then under 170. I am not losing as fast as I did in the beginning, but keep reminding myself-I didn't gain it all in a couple of months-I shouldn't expect to lose it it that soon. As far as leveling off, I just work out a little harder/longer, eat a little better and then my body gets right back on track-at this point 1 pound a month would be a triumph to me. I still look in the mirror or at the scale and think 35 pounds gone! Really? 35 pounds in a little over 2 months!! I had to dig my "smaller" clothes out of the closet because all of my pants and even shirts are too big. It blows my mind away that I let myself get that big and unhealthy, but also that I have stuck to it and the weight is really gone. I am so proud of ALL of you 5 pounds lost to 300 pounds lost. It takes alot of determination now on to that sugar free pudding...........

Congrats to you! I hit the 4-0 two months ago and working on the 5-0 plateau.

I tried on a pair of old Tommy Bahama Jeans that I loved but stopped wearing a year ago. I can now put them on and even button them. What a feeling that is. I started CC in July of 08 and owe it all to their guidance. I have learned so much from this site. I realize keeping it off is just as hard as taking it off, so CC starts my day and ends it. CC is my personal trainer. Essentially, yes, it's all about eating less and moving more.

I will have one of my favorite Beers (Stella Artois) in celebration of our progress Friday Night.

Congrats to everyone!!!! I have lost 52 pounds so far and only 8 more to go. I started my journey in January of 2008. I went shopping yesterday and bought myself a new pair of jeans and fit into a size that I haven't worn since high school. How fun! Good luck everyone. Smile
