Is bragging allowed?

Quote  |  Reply

I don't want to waste a lot of people's time is just that.....

TODAY I HIT 40 LBS LOST!!!! FOURTY!

That's like a slightly obese kindergartener.  I lost an entire small human being!

Now, just so that I don't feel like such an attention mongerer.....does anyone else want to brag about anything? Share, we can all celebrate together.  If someone else has something good I will eat a suger-free pudding in your honor.

Congrats!!!  I'm down 46 lbs since 12/01/08.  I feel so much better, but still wish I was losing it faster.  I still have about 100 lbs to go, but I'll get there and so will you.  You're doing great!  Keep up the good work!

I fit into a pair of jeans over the weekend that I had stored away for years.  Man, I looked so smokin' good to my own self that I went out dancin' for two nights in a row.  Danced so hard and long I dropped another pound!  I am postively bubbling over with optimism.  I've lost almost 10 pounds, dropped 1 1/2 dress sizes and 5 inches off my waist.  I've done this by using CC.  I'm eating whatever I want in moderation and keeping track.  There have been Krispy Kremes and Wendy's in this story of weight loss.  My weekly calorie average is really generous compared to have I've deprived myself (and failed miserably) in the past.  For the first time in my life, I'm losing the fear of my own self and what I might do to "blow" the next diet.   I'm not going to blow this.  I'm succeeding every single day and for once, I know what I'm doing in terms of numbers and what works for me.

I'm showing everyone who will look my new biceps and shoulders, my waist, my butt.  I'm having a blast and bragging every chance I get.

I love hearing about success!

Congrats on your weight loss!  I don't know where you get your stats but a 40 pound kindergartner is not slightly obsese by any means.  A healthy weight range for my daughter who is 5 would be from 37-44 pounds.  She is currently 40 pounds and in the 50th percentile for weight.  Her heighth is average too at 43 inches tall.  Now a four year old weighing 40 pounds and being only 40 inches tall would be considered slightly obese....

That's excellent, congratulations!! I have only lost 6lbs but I've only started within the last two months so I'm very proud of myself so far. I myself love sugar free pudding I think we should have a toast! lol Laughing

that is awesome!  i recently lost 35 lbs in the past 7 months too! 10 more to go!

i think it should be OK to brag....i started going to the gym almost 2 months ago, i have lost 26 pounds and want to lose more, i am so proud of me and i want to tell the world! everyone notices and compliments me but those that do i educate them on the work that i have been doing! some get upset and others get motivated.! So i say good for you,.....keep it up,brag away!!!

That's awesome!!! I have lost 22 pounds since Jan. 5th. I gave up all together. But exercising and eating right is working.... Being in my late 30's everyone said you can't do it! Well that just made me want to prove them wrong... I still have 30 more pounds to go... But I am going to do it! And good for you, brag away you deserve it!! :)

Bragging should be allowed. Congrats on the milestone!

I really love hearing long-time maintainers brag, too!

GREAT JOB! It's so hard to stay motivatesd, so you have done an amazing job sticking through with it. Just lost 30 lbs...more to go, but I've made the wonderful discovery of exercise, which I never thought was possible! Great job, and lets go brag!

You Go Girl! I've lost 70lbs and have 20lbs to go started at 231lbs am now 160/159lbs.... Goal is 140... Just starting to  plateau after 1 year of straight weight lose, but no complaints- I feel great!

Congrats on the 40! (though this post was back on the 9th so I'm sure it might be more now =D) It seems like yesterday I was bragging about the big 4-0 & now I'm bragging about the big 6-6! Yup. October 19th, 08 @ 276 lbs I decided I was going to lose weight & now I stand here March 30th, 09 at 210 & 66 lbs lighter =)

66 lbs in a lil over 5 months. I feel awesome! My 2 year old is kinda chubby....33 lbs...so in your obese kindergardener statement lol....I've lost 2 kinda chubby 2 year olds!

66 down.....65 to go. Uhg!

I'll get there though =)

Bragging is always allowed and CONGRATS! I reached my first self-imposed milestone myself this weekend...50 pounds lost! Keep up the great work and keep us informed on your progress.

Way to go! I started the year off at 440lbs! Wieghed myself for the first time since then and down to 330lbs!And still going.

right on!!

40 lbs is **** of weight...

i've only lost a pound and a half (been doing the healthy thing for 5days now).  kinda discouraged for all the WORK i've done, felt like more, but still good right?!

you've inspired me to not go **** with a bag of chips.

holy crap... i was 65 lbs. when i was a kindergartener (i was a little tall though)... i'm so embarassed, have i been fat that long? :|

anyways grats lol. even though you kinda make me feel all "...D:..." you achieved something awesome. :]

supper happy congratulations!!!! you worked hard missy, and you totally deserve bragging rights if you lost it the proper way!

Yay!  Brag away!  I'm .6 pounds away from my next milestone (80 pounds lost), so it's super fun to see other people succeeding.  Here's something fun I like to do when I hit a big milestone: I convert the weight into things I deal with every day.

Here are a few things that weigh 40 pounds:

  • 605 cups of raw spinach
  • 6720 regulation ping pong balls
  • 134 large bananas
  • 648 cups of Rice Krispies
  • 762 AA batteries
  • 2268 cups of popcorn

Aren't you glad you don't have to carry any of that around with you all day?

Congratulations!

Great job!! It takes a lot to loose 40 pounds. Congratulations!

As long as we are bragging....I've lost 95 pounds over the last two years.  I still have 95 to go.

<standing ovation with clapping> TO ALL Y'ALL: including me congratulations! this is the best website for weightloss! I came to CA in 05 weighing 143 from florida!over the past years I've gained until 1/28/09 when I was the same weight I'd waddled into the hospital with my one & onle child!171#'s I couldn't believe myself! I'd always been so "active" so "alive"!Growing up in LA I ran everywhere or biked! When I moved to Orlando same thing! walk or bike! then...I moved to "HELL" (the high desert!) where the winters are as bitter as fargo north dakota! and the summers as hot and dry as the sahara!who want's to go out in either of those temperatures let alone with the wonderfull added treat of ...BLOWING SAND!I've got redhead skin! which mean's? I feel like I've been scrubbed by my grandma for Christmas dinner company! so when I booked my round trip flight for new zealand on 1/28, I decided right then and there I'd better get moving because i was not going to be a "heffer" when I went down there!Starting in size 18 pants and working and dieting and watching every morsel that went past my lips & teeth, using the food chart every single night when I got home and weighing myself only once a week I am happy to report that on Friday I leave LAX @10:30pm wearing size 11 pants and weighing in at 154#'s!!(maybe less!) BTW: I'm 5'4" and 52 years old! When I return I've got about 13 more #'s to go & then....I'm working for a trip to Hawaii in October! hoping to be a size 4 for that trip!setting the size 4 goal for just <3 months away was a bit ridiculous I know but settign an reachible yet unreasonible goal, for me, worked!!! YEAH TO US ALL!!! We're winners!!!at losing!!!

Gread job, I lost about 10 pounds and I estatic.
