Bragging Rights!
After starting this journey in January of 2008, i have lost about 25 pounds. I also developed a love for running (I couldn't even run 2 minutes straight then), and I am proud to say I am now a MARATHON COMPLETER!!!!
I finished the Nashville Country Music Marathon this weekend with a time of 4:19. What a thrill. Just thought I would share with you all that ANYTHING is possible if you put your mind to it. Yea, the pounds were nice to see shed, but the thrill of pushing your body to those limits and knowing you are capable of something like that, is just, well, Im speechless!
So, I finally started running...okay, well I ran once. On Friday I went around the block walking several times and then did some jogging. I found that I can do the length of 1 1/2 sidewalks then I would stop, walk all the way around the block and pick up where I had left off. I haven't run since then. On Monday I went walking but did not run b/c I felt very run down...wasn't sure why, well on Monday night I ended up with a sore throat and was sick all day on Mon and today too. HOw do you handle that? All I want to do is eat comfort foods. I have been drinking a ton of OJ but at the same time feel guilty because of all the calories. Should I stick to my diet or just go off until I feel better?
Congratulations sealion!! That is an amazing accomplishment!
I just started running in April... I completed my first 5K in May (00:43:50) I've been running with a friend from work. Planning to run another 5K in August... baby steps! Dreaming of becoming a Marathon runner!!
