Bragging Rights: What good and/or healthy thing have you done for yourself today?
I don't know about you, but I'd like to have somewhere to brag about some accomplishments, especially the little ones that matter to me but no one else.
Things like deciding to park 2 blocks away and walk instead of parking very close to the door, or taking stairs instead of the elevator....
Here's one I am happy about: I resisted buying a 'healthy' frozen pizza. This means I did not go home and eat the whole thing in one sitting. Now I hope that someday I can buy it, cook it and be able to brag about just eating a slice with a salad (yea, right) but today I managed to walk by and not put it in my cart.
What accomplishment are you proud of?
I ran two miles this morning
I've only drank water all day
I've eaten very healthy today (grade A on the CC scale) even though right now i'm hungry and feel very much like stopping at BK on the way home from work, lol
hang tough!
I scheduled my gym orientation for tomorrow, drank lots of water, and walked a few kilometers instead of taking the bus...though tbh that was because I was too hot to wait for it to roll by.
And I had lunch with friends at a Chinese buffet restaurant. That was good for my mental health. I handled it well: nothing overly fatty, no sweet and sour meats, etc.
great job you guys!! and brownsug here is a tip for you to curb those afternoon hungers (of course you have to drive past the burger king lol) pack an after work snack pack that you can keep in the fridge at work. a pack of Melba toast wheat (100 cal's for all 5 pieces, 60 for 3) a 3 oz package of tuna, and an apple, or a clementine orange. take just a little bit before you leave work and enjoy your snack pack then even if you get stuck in traffic you wont be ravenous when you get home. in this example you have good carbs good protein, omega 3 fatty acids, and fiber. also by doing this you wont be so tempted to nibble while you cook
i must say i am really jealous though i haven't been able to run in a very very long time. congrats again on the great day!!!

Wahoo! Way to go all!
Those are good snack ideas, but I work from home. The good side is I don't drive past BK or the likes, but the fridge is right around the corner.
I have a salty/crunchy thing and have found a big dill pickle is the perfect little snack when I am cooking dinner. It kind of feels like cheating but it's not....
Okay, so tonight I went over to the climbing gym, it was quiet and I was getting a bit frustrated and about to come home with less than a workout. Someone new to the gym came over and asked for my help (who...me?!?) They wanted to know if I could show them a bouldering move and I am looking at this move thinking, "Uh oh...." I have to swing over and grab the next hold. (Think monkey bars here) The little Fat Devil on my left shoulder is saying, "You are going to dislocate your shoulder swinging that body, fatso", while the little climbing Angel on my right shoulder is telling me "Go for it, you skipped the pizza, you can do this!"
.......I got the move and didn't dislocate my shoulder!!!! Yippeeee! I squished the fat devil and just for the heck of it I did it 2 more times....
whooo hooo!!!!! u go girl!!! climbing is something ive always wanted to do. but i am terrified to try it. and the pickle idea is a good one i love kosher dills (i even cut them up and put them on my salads) any way what kind of work do you do from home? I am an over the road truck driver with tyson foods. I have been a truck driver for over 10 yrs now. just found the site here, july 30th (i think) anyway, my brag for today is i have drank water all day except with lunch and supper, my main meals have been salads, and ganola bars for snacks I dont count calories any more, i only eat when i am hungry. i implemented a walking technique today that i think is going to be very helpful, here it is if anyone wants to try it: when ever i am walking after about 20 steps, i imagine that there is someone or some type of big animal chasing me and i speed up my pace. i do this at least twice with any walk but it can be done multiple times ever how often one likes. ttfn

Medical computer software support. I travel some and that is when I really cave and eat bad. I don't know how anyone on the road all the time can do it...wow....
I try imagining myself on a walk across France or some other place I want to go visit.
I fractured my ankle last week walking to my grandmother's, which really bummed me out since I had gotten up to walking 1.75 miles every other night. I have chronic mono and last summer, I could barely walk the quarter mile to see her.
I got on the scale this morning, very carefully without my special boot, and found that I was able to still lose 6/10 of a pound even with very little activity and watching what I eat!

So far today, I've had breakfast. :P That's as far as I've gotten. Trying to motivate myself to go to the gym!
Here is my bragging for the day:
I woke up on time and got to work BEFORE I had to be =)
I ate VERY healthy today with salads for main meals and cottage cheese for snacks. I even tempted fate by making homemade lasagna for my family for their dinner, and won!!! The only bad part of my diet today was my birthday dessert of..........ROLO'S (love those things, but I stuck to only one serving)!
Before dinner and the Rolo's, I went on a 2.25 mile walk and had an amazing time with a good friend.
Now, I am about to get my self to bed so that I can get in 8 hours of sleep tonight.
Keep up the good work everyone! Have a great night!
i took a break and had a "cheat" day (i ate lasagna)
2 rugby training session and 7 days of weights
-
proper going into overtraining, swollen glands and just a general ache all over
-
;D healthy by being.. unhealthy

Yikes, been a while since I've gotten out here because I haven't had anything to brag about....
I was traveling for work and that's pretty much a very quick way for me to trash my weight loss and healthy eating.
I did go climbing yesterday and it was a good hard workout and managed to get back on track with eating my veggies. I guess it's all about the small stuff...

54ar0n- how's your ankle?
Ann,
My ankle is slowly on the mend... ![]()
got on the scale for second time since I hurt it and I lost another 1.2 pounds...which leaves me at a minimum of four more pounds to reach my goal of 150 for my 25th high school reunion which is in mid-October. I know if I keep at the pace I am at, I will also exceed that goal and the goal I have set for next May 14th; the date I started on my current weight loss endeavor.
I stuck to my grocery list which includes: cottage cheese, wheat buns, cous cous, flaxen seed brown rice, strawberries, pineapple, chicken breast, salmon, yogurt, and orange juice. I turned down the opportunity to blow my diet due to a networking opportunity at work which involves eating yummy breakfast foods that will derail my diet. Lastly, I'm going to walk a mile when I sign off of this website.
Yea, me!
