I just had a brain fart...
..I think I know the answer to this, but suddenly I can't seem to wrap my head around it.
Do you need to keep the 500-1000 calorie deficit throughout the day, or does there only need to be a deficit in the evening once you're done with eating all day?
Does that make sense?

I was eating breakfast (I live in Japan at the moment) and since it's early I've only burned about 450 calories for the day, so was like "Woah wait...I can't eat yet?" I don't know I just got real confused for some reason. Bahaha...
..the whole day.

I couldn't figure out if I needed to maintain a deficit throughout the day, as in wait until my burn meter increased before I could eat my next meal/snack. I know now...it only counts at the end of the day.
I looked it up...but "brain fart" will not show in activity burn list?
