Brand new, looking for some buddies. : )
I just joined CC today. This morning to be exact. I think it's kind of funny because today was probably the oddest eating day ever. I've been busy working on a project. My lunch was ham. Just ham. Usually I keep sandwich supplies in the work fridge, but I guess I've been falling behind. Today I had 2 slices of ham, no cheese or bread or even mustard. Haha! I got a good laugh at myself. Eating my ham slowly to make it last. It was so sad in a hilarious way. Now I'm eating a meal bar because I have a step class in about an hour and don't want to eat anything heavy before. It's sooooooo my style to join a calorie counting website the day that I'm super busy and eat nothing.
Luckily, along with joing this site, I've also set up a fairly solid meal plan. No more finding myself without lunch supplies!
Anyway. I'm almost 24; tird of feeling like a gross out of shape blob; and starting to hole myself more accountable for my choices. I just joined a fitness club next week and joined classes 4-6 times a week. Definitely starting to pay more attention to what food I'm putting in my body.
I don't really have a goal weight. I just want to feel better. I used to be really active. I played sports year-round in high school, and then it all stopped in college. I'm using this site as more of a food log and support system than an actual calorie counter. Obviously my calories will be counted for me, but it's not my biggest concern.
I read a lot, and play bass guitar a lot. I love music and spending time with my family and friends, and my boyfriend who loves me and thinks I'm gorgeous no matter what, so doesn't really get my whole health/fitness revelation... bless his heart. : )
Hi,
I too just joined as of this morning. This time I feel really positive and motivated to not only lose the weight, but get healthy. I think literally staring at the "BIG 40" has gotten me a little freaked out. I didn't think it would bother me this much, but it does.
I cut back on my caloric intake and started working out. I eat continuously throughout the day but have managed to stick to my goal of 1500 calories/day. This is compared to what I must imagine was about 4000 calories a day? Is that possible? I'm surprised that I haven't completely lost myself. I just love to eat....preferably anything deep fried. Growing up in a multi-cultural family, we just don't understand the term "low-fat" or any variation thereof.
I don't really have a goal weight in mind. I am 5' tall and currently 183 lbs; every sight I have been on has stated that I should be around 135 lbs. I think I will wait it out. I have always been a girl with curves and want to remain so. I just want things lifted, seperated and firm, so who really knows what the magic number is? I can remember I looked and felt great at 150 lbs.
Anyways, my fiance' has always and continues to tell me how very beautiful I am. I wish I could see through his eyes!
Hi there! This is my first day here to. I have about 30 lbs to lose and am 40 years old. I have used every diet pill and plan out there. Weight Watchers did work, but I was embarrassed every week getting on that scale in front of people. I lost 80 lbs in about 6 months and was happy with my loss. Then I hurt my back and stopped excercising, but continued to watch what i ate so that I wouldnt gain back.
Right now my goal is to lose 30 more lbs and tighten back up. I know that I can't do it without excercising so I have started a workout routine that helped me the first time. M,W, F pilates. T, TH, Sat cardio (either a 3 mile walk or 30 minutes on the eliptical).
I also know from tapping into some of the weight loss success from some of the girls at work that adding weights, even small ones, to any routine help speed up the weight loss process.
Those are some tips that I have. If you have any, let me know. If you need someone to talk to, I am a really good listener.
Good luck!!!!
Veronica
I am a first timer today as well. I am very over welmed and all i can do is think of food. I really want this to work. I started a workout today. It was kinda fun. I also added the weights. So far I like his site. It at least it makes being on a diet more fun.
HI, I am new here, as of about ten minutes ago. I am still learning my way around. Looking for a few like minded buddies to cheer each other along. Give a high five on a great day, a hug on a low day.
I am 37, have one son, 13, and married 19 years. We are a military family, stationed in Texas.
I am trying to loose about 20 pounds, not looking for perfection just comfortable and healthy.
I look forward making new friendships along the journey to good health.
Hi everyone! I am a newbie as of this morning....March 2nd! I decided that if I have to track all my food intake maybe I won't eat as much because I will see my calories adding up! Or maybe I can eat as much just different types of food!
I am 28 and have a 5 year old (well technically tomorrow she will be 5) and an 11 month old! I am 5'4 about 118 pounds, but would like to lose about 10 more pounds. I haven't been 108 since junior high and all the weight calculators say it is healthy for my small bone structure so why not! However, I probably won't make it down to 108 since I lift weights and muscle weighs more than fat :)
Well talk to ya'll later...glad to finally be a part of a group that can relate!
Heya,
I'm new on here as well. I'm 29 yr old female with no children. I weigh around 175lbs and they told me by goal weight should be 138lbs but I feel that is too thin so we'll see :) I pretty much have to eat 1750 calories for the next 9 months. That's a long plan right? I'm trying to introduce more fruit into my diet because in all honesty, my diet sucks big time.
I have this tendency to eat when I'm bored or while watching TV..I actually can't believe how many calories I consume in one day. I'm large but by no means obese..so I'm surprised I don't weigh more than I do. Anyway just thought I'd give a shout out!
Hello there,
I actually joined few months ago but i kind of forgot about it :) now I'm back on track (i hope).
Anyway...I'm 25 years old. I live in Croatia, Europe and my goal is not so much to lose wight, only few kilos, but I despretly need to get into shape and work on my health. I have extremely stressful job and it is starting to show already on me (i just wonder how it will be when I hit 40 or 50 if I keep this up).
So instead of feeling sorry for my self i decided to take prevetiv action and just started ruuning (or should i say walking ;)) around the block.
So far so good.
I'm also looking for buddies to make things easier and more interesting.
That's all for now.
Have a great day.
