Brand New...need friends and accountability. Any short ladies out there around 200 lbs?
New to this web site and like the potential for a community.
I'm a California girl. Young/career type with a lot of weight to lose to be taken seriously in my corporate job. I'm juggling my job with my weight loss priorities. I work in the marketing department of a restaurant chain...so part of my job is eating... a lot. And it ain't healthy food (all pizza).
Anyone wanna be friends?
What's your story? Struggles?
Hi
I understand completely...I was just short of 200lbs - lost 42lbs so far over 14 months - so it has been a slow process. I'm currently working in the media industry...notorious for parties and lunches...so I completely sympathize. The best thing I can say to you is it will take time...
Exercise was also a struggle for me...I get up at 6.30am as is and then get home around 7pm - but after a LOT of push...Its now part of my evening routine and definately helps.
In terms of the Pizza thing...I would say limit portions. I still have the occasional Pizza...but just make sure its only a maximum of 2 slices.
I'd be happy to answer any questions and offer support throughout your journey
I still have a LONG way to go but im determinded...
...You can do it!
I'm 4' 11'' TOOO!! I didn't think too many of us existed! I started this at exactly 200 pounds...I can't believe I am admitting that! Now I am 157 but I am finding it hard to keep at it. I feel like I have been dieting forever! I want the cake and pizza again...I know I can have a little bit but once I have some I want more...I guess its just going to be a life long battle. Exercise has been the key for me though. I know I have to sweat...everyday! I am a teacher but am home this year to be with my daughter...her diet consists of mac-n-cheese, yogurt, and goldfish! De-lish!! Anyway... we all have good days and bad ones...but its great to know we are in the same boat! Any tips on good snacks? Besides the usual fruit? I love fruit but get sick of it sometimes!
I am 5'2 and down from 198lbs to 135lbs.
I also thought i'd tell you that i frequently indulged in chocolate, pizza, chips and all manner of goodies.
Just remember to include the things you enjoy whilst staying in your calorie limit.
Good Luck.
PM me if you ever want to chat.
I am another shorty (4 11 1/2) but older - 56. You guys are so smart to do it now, i had two knee replacements last year, not fun.
I gained again during the recuperation and am back at CC, have to agree that good food choices and exercise both have to be in place. Plus, slow is good.
My job (counselor) is also sedentary, but without the food issues. I feel lucky that I can keep fruit, yogurt etc. in the fridge. I just have to stay away from the candy bowl here, which is typically ok, but once I eat sugar - the rest of the day is shot.
Current weight 185, first goal is 150, hopefully by spring. I cant thing any further ahead than that :-) Actually first goal is eating a healthy lunch today. Keep on keepig on !
Would you consider 5'4" short? I'm close to 220, and have lost four pounds in two weeks, so far.
Similar career as the one you described, except it isn't in the food industry, but it does involve lots of coworkers bringing in goodies, social lunches and dinners.
My story/struggle has been ongoing for many years, and I have many hang-ups when it comes to losing weight/eating. I've spelled most of it out in my bio.
I need to retrain myself on how I think of food (tends to be a crutch, an addiction and what I do when I am bored), so it is a struggle for certain.
I'd love to have someone to share ups and downs with.
