There was a question posted somewhere on this site this morning about cereals, but other than that, what do you eat?
I usually eat either Kashi Go Lean Crunch! or have scrambled eggs with lean ham, or sometimes cottage cheese. I like to eat a higher protein breakfast, it seems to keep me going better.
So how about you?
I usually have a low calorie/low carb yogurt with an orange but now it's really hot since it's summer so I've been making a smoothie with 1/3 of a cup of unsweetened soya milk, crushed ice, one low cal(35 cals Silhoutte) yogurt with 0.5 cup frozen strawberries, half a frozen banana and half a scoop of protein.
If you must have a coffe fix,
1 tsp instant flavoured coffee mixed with hot water, ice, vanilla protein powder and half cup of unsweetened soya milk is good, too.
I normally have a half of a grapefruit, 2 or 3 slices of turkey bacon, and two egg whites with a yogurt and some coffee half n half no sugar
After a while that gets so boring does anyone have any other suggestions. I'd really appreciate it thanks
I usually have a bowl of oatmeal with cinnamon and yogurt on top... mmm... OR, I'll have a bowl of Cheerios with skim milk and some fruit. My breakfast is almost always under 200 calories.
During the work week, breakfast is either lower sugar oatmeal and a Dannon Light and Fit yogurt or a Kashi cereal bar with a yogurt. On the weekends I try to eat cereal or oatmeal. I don't drink coffee, but I have a diet soda of some sort with breakfast.
I usually start with some fresh fruit. If I am still hungry after that I will eat some oatmeal. I also like to have some whole wheat toast. ![]()
During summer months I like a light breakfast. I usually have a container of Dannon Light & Fit Carb & Sugar Control Vanilla Creme Yogurt mixed with a handful of fresh blueberries & strawberries and some Grape-Nuts for a little crunch. Winter months I like a bowl of Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal with a sprinkle of cinnamon and some dried fruit like raisins or cranberries. Making your own breakfast sandwich with a light whole grain english muffin, canadian bacon, egg beaters, and reduced fat cheddar cheese is a great way to start the day too!
Right now, it's super basic. Can of SlimFast. When I get to work, I make sure to have a piece of fruit right away. That's it before lunch, though I might drink something that's 0 calories.
I'll probably start having egg white omlettes or something healthy and basic for breakfast when I have my own place (13 more days!) Till then, Slim Fast seems the quickest and easiest.
Lately
I'll have an egg or two scrambled with lots of vegetables like peppers and mushrooms with a little bit of salsa
one piece of toast with nothing on it
a half cup of sliced fruit
sometimes a banana
and a cup of tea
and this keeps me going right on to lunch
though some days I may be hungrier and will go for a little bit of extra fruit
I have weight control quakers oatmeal cooked with bluberries and a banana. If I don't have any fruit, I'd eat the oatmeal by itself with Nutri-grain or Fiber Plus. Sometimes I'd add the chocolate chip Fiber Plus to my oatmeal to make chocolate oatmeal! Very, very filling.
I eat 3 egg whites with a bit of shredded cheese, a piece of whole grain toast with a tiny bit of butter, 3 pieces of turkey bacon, and some orange juice. An incredible amount of food for right around 300 cals.
Makes cereal and coffee sound really dull!
I love cereal but it doesn't seem to keep my very full for long. This morning I had Grape Nuts - lots of fiber.
I want to start with the egg whites and maybe some toast in the mornings. Going grocery shopping today :)
I always eat Quaker Oats Old Fashioned Oats with raisins and walnuts. I just boil water and pour it into my dry mixture. Sometimes I add cinnamon or brown sugar. Keeps me full for hours.
I'm right there with you fitchicky. I eat oatmeal literally every single day for breakfast. I always switch it up but it is low in calories and literally keeps you full for at least 3-4 hours. It's awesome! =)
I do look for the oatmeal that is low in sugar though. Some of the premixed ones out there are way high in sugar so I be sure to check that.
On the go andin the know.
