Whats your favorite high protein, clean, low carb breakfast?

Quaker Instant Oatmeal- Maple & Brown Sugar (lower sugar). Only 4g of sugar and 120 calories!!!

haha oatmeal is pretty much solely carbs with only a little protein. ur best bet for high protein, low carb breakfast is probably eggs. egg white omlette, with whey protein always is nice. add a few berries if ur not going too low carb.

greek yoghurt is nice too. while primarily still a carb, it does include a fair amount of protein too! just dont top it up with sugar and ur carb levels should be fine!

For a high protein, low carb breakfast I go with 1 whole egg,  3 egg whites, 4 ounces of chicken breast,  some onions and peppers,  maybe even mushrooms and a bit of cheese.

I don't know about "clean," but most weekday mornings I have 2 slices of turkey bacon, 1/4 cup of egg beaters egg replacements, and a cup of grapefruit juice. Mmm. :)

egg whites (4 large) or 3/4 cup store bought, with cooked frozen mixed vegetables and Oikos greek yogurt.

Lower sugar oatmeal (cinnamon spice), 3 egg whites, and a tall skinny cinnamon latte :)

While I usually have toast with my eggs, I often also add MorningStar Farms sausage (veg) which also ups the protein.

Other wise sometimes I also have protein shake, with added fruit.

But most of my breakfast are complex carbs, high fiber with protein as well as a small amount of fat, which keeps me going.

I'm not sure how low in carbs you are looking for, but I tend to stay around 40% of calories from carbs or lower. Here are two of my favorite breakfasts:

Breakfast burrito with two eggs, some guacamole, and lots of salsa on a whole wheat tortilla. 350 calories, 17 grams protein, 25 grams carbs, 5 grams fiber

1 cup of 2% Greek yogurt with 1/4 cup of slivered almonds and a small sliced up banana, all mixed together. 400 calories, 27 grams protein, 38 grams carbs, 6 grams fiber

Yum!

1/2 cup of egg beaters (60 cals), lots of broccoli, on a flat out wrap (100 cal) with some mustard.

Might not be tasty for everyone but I have been eating this breakfast M-F for over a year and I still am in love with it.

A veggie or bean egg white wrap

4 large egg whites

1/4 cup left over steamed veggies or pinto beans

salsa if you would like

Instead of using a wrap or tortilla I use the egg whites as my wrap

I also have a slice of whole wheat toast

I've had bacon and 2 eggs for breakfast for the last 2 years. I thought that was bad, but I'm healthier and skinnier than ever. Low carb is so right for me!

I feel like I'm slacking on breakfast . I only have a Banana to put something on my stomach so I can go work out. But I see all the good food on here I might have to try something else. Thanks

I will have to try some of these suggestions!  Thanks.

I don't have anything new to add. An omelette of 2–3 whites plus one yolk, with a bit of whatever vegetable was left over from last night. Favourites: mushrooms, green beans, zucchini, brocolli, cauliflower, or spinach.

Sometimes enhanced with a sprinkle of herbs or spices, or a few shreds of cheese.

Takes less than 2 minutes to make!

Just FYI - 4 large egg whites are equivalent to about 1/2c in volume, so if you want the protein/calories of 3/4c, you should go for 6 egg whites.

1 egg

1/2 cup of egg whites

one slice of bread.

delicious!

PUREED PUMPKIN & A POACHED EGG!!! I dream about this breakfast for sure! ha ha ha!

Thanks for all the breakfast ideas!  I will be trying some for sure!

gia I've seen you mention that as a breakfast a lot and I like both food items a lot but I was just wondering how you prepare them. Do you cook them together? eggs and pumpkin sound like they'd taste funny together.

Yeah me too when I saw this I got curious. Can't wait to hear\ read this recipe ( pumpkin and eggs)
