Breakfast

What are you guys getting for breakfast?

I have wholemeal toast with peanut butter (thickly spread)

1 Weetabix, with 1 tsp almonds, half a sliced banana and skimmed milk.

Though it was pretty healthy under I entered it into my food log - over 500 calories for breakfast and I was hungry again within 2 hours.

I love peanut butter but at 200 calories for 2 tbsp think I might have to cut down on it.

I like oatmeal, I have it with honey, milk and almonds, maybe I should try you idea of water, splenda, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon. Does it taste ok without the milk?

Eggs are always great if I have the time.

My weakness is weekends, when by boyfirend offers to do me toast thick with butter mmmmmmm I love it!

I had a South Beach protein bar when I got to work this morning.  I have a fat free Key Lime Pie yogurt that I will eat about 10am.

you can cook eggs in a microwave. in a cup. its super easy and fast. google it.

also for the oatmeal, if you cook the oats and start them in the water as you bring it to a boil, then let it simmer (normally you would put the oats in when its boiling) something happens and it gets really creamy. you stir it frequently, and it gets more and more creamy. with NO milk. its great.

you could always pour a tsbp of skim milk or soy milk onto it after you serve it up

you could also use berries on top, a blog of applesauce or low cal jam.

i just put bananas in it this morning, you can also add diced apples to it when you are simmering it.

Cheers I will try that, especially eggs - much more filling. I can't stop eating today, I have no idea why. Didn't train yesterday either, I'm usually quite hungry the day after way weigths workout. I have my breakfast, mid morning and mid afternoon snack all about 11am - opps

For the first couple of days, I made a breakfast sandwich--a toasted whole wheat high fiber English Muffin with a fried egg, a few slices of deli-shaved lowfat ham, and a slice of lowfat cheddar.

Today I'm having some crustless quiche (eggs, milk, veggies, ham and cheese) left over from last night's dinner.

I also made an iced coffee--brewed coffee that had cooled down, plus a scoop of vanilla whey protien powder, mixed together and poured over ice.  That was really yummy!

this morning my breaky is an omega 3 egg, fried with 0 cal spray, on top of a piece of whole grain weight watchers toast with a smear of light mayo and a small yogurt. calories= 190

My breakfast for the last ... oh, I dunno - 2-3 months?

1 egg + 100 g egg whites + 30 g low fat ham fried with 0 cal spray, topped with 10 g of cheddar cheese and served with 20 g red bell peppers, 30 g tomatoes, 50 g cucumbers and 60 g 1% or 2% cottage cheese on the side. Plus a cup of warm skim milk (I hate cold skim milk).

approx 300 kcal, primarily protein, and keeps me full for at least 3 hours.
