Breakfast makes me sick
Does anybody else have this problem? I'm trying really hard to stop my bad habit of skipping breakfast but everytime I eat that early in the morning I end up feeling sick to my stomach. It's making it really hard to do what I know I should. This morning it was an english muffin, a hard boiled egg and some strawberries...sounds nice but I could hardly keep it down.
i agree. start small and your body will, in not too much time, be craving that morning food. it's best to have breakfast be your biggest meal anyway, so start with baby steps.
What about a protein shake? It's like tricking yourself because you are drinking it but it fills you up and kickstarts your metabolism.
My favourite is blueberry banana -- soy milk, banana, blueberries, protein powder, flax oil -- it's YUMMY and filling!
It is how I started with breeakfast and now I NEED to eat in the mornings!
I used to have the same problem, i agree with nbkelly, i started drinking shakes in the morning with some protein powder, soy milk and fruits ( i like frozen fruits better then fresh fruits in my shake) i look forward to my shake now, and i alternate different breakfast throughout the week now. eat smaller and more frequently and you wont feel so sick hopefully :)
I used to have this problem as well. I realised that if I waited an hour or so after i got up to eat I felt a lot better and was able to keep my food down. You might want to try a piece of fruit and some juice to start. Take baby steps and then go from there. Good luck:)
I know the feeling. I need to wake up, make myself a cup of hot water and lemon, drink it while I'm getting ready for the day (this is usually about an hour). So once I've finished my tea I have breakfast and I feel fine!
In my experience though, don't drink the hot water and lemon while eating... it's not pleasant afterwards I'll say haha.
Have a drink in the morning, tea, coffee, whatever just to line your stomach and get your body going. Wait half hour to an hour then eat something like toast. They give you toast after an op as it doesn't make you feel sick. When you're more awake a real breakfast will keep you going until your lunch.
Yes, I feel sick eating in the morning too, especially if it is early and before work. I keep oatmeal at my desk. I drink coffee on my way to work (around 7:30) and then eat a packet of oatmeal (~140cals) around 9:00. I am rarely hungry until lunchtime!
I used to not like eating breakfast and even would feel a bit of nausea if I forced myself to eat. I started by just having a yogurt or glass of juice. Now I'm actually hungry if I don't eat in the morning and need something. Sometimes it's a glass or two of chocolate almond milk or strawberry kefir or a smoothie of mango juice and yogurt with protein powder.
A friend of mine has the exact same problem. He just has a slimfast in the morning, and it's solved his problem. =)
I have this problem... not only do i feel sick and pukey.. it gives me the runs... so i usually have to wait 1 hour or more after I wake up to eat breakfast...
I had the same problem. It started when I was about 14. I saw a Dr once when it was getting really bad, and he would not listen to me, just kept on saying that I had an eating disorder and tried to admit me to a clinic - thanks Doc.
Anyway, if I ate anything before 10am, I would throw it straight back up again. My Mum would make me an extra sandwich and I would have it during morning recess (yes I was a spoilt child :)). I have since found out that I have a problem with my digestive system, so if it continues for a long time, you may want to see a Gastroenterologist. I had 2 tumors, but I doubt that is what is causing your nausea.
Hope it stops soon.
I think for me, its a matter of sleep. I dont get 8 hours so I think it kinda mixes my body up a bit. Like when I went to guatemela 2 years back I went to bed early and woke up early because we had to... I ate a HUGE breakfast without any symtoms. In the past year when I have gone to bed at 10pm and woke up at like 7 am I can eat breakfast no problem. I think for me all I need to do is get more sleep and I would be able to eat breakfast just fine... but I sleep in and then hurry off to work lol... ive been trying to change that... been having a hard time though.
