breakfast and weight

Quote  |  Reply

I go to the gym, after breakfast.  I usually have a bowl of oatmeal with yogurt/w/p.b.

About how much weight could I account for this when weighing myself?

It really shouldn't affect your weight too dramatically.  Maybe +/- .5-1.0 pounds?

In my opinion, It's better to weigh yourself before you eat or drink anything.  If the problem is you can't weigh yourself until you get to the gym, try buying a scale for home.  You can usually find one for under $20.

Also, keep in mind that your weight fluctuates +/- 3 pounds a day, usually.  I think it depends on hydration levels, and how much you even, how much you've gone to the bathroom, etc.

Good luck!

I agree with swim...weigh yourself after you visit the bathroom and before you eat/drink.

If you want to get super specific, how about you weigh your breakfast and subtract that amount from the scale?

Your weight is your weight and it's changing all the time.  If you just ate or drank something it's a little higher.  If you just went to the toilet, it's a little lower.   If you start going down the road of deducting breakfast from the number you should add back your early morning pee just to be consistent....

Take your weight at the gym and go with that.  Makes absolutely no difference to anything except some misplaced sense of vanity.

Well weigh yourself before you eat and after you use the bathroom.  But if you did eat and feel it necessary to weigh, consider the grams...  about 500 grams in a pound, so a 45grams packet of oatmeal plus 3/4 cup (6 ounces of water), plus a 170gram cup of yogurt, plus 20 or so grams of peanut butter....

6 ounce / /3/4cup = .375lbs

235 grams = .518lbs

so .375 + .518 = .893lbs

so you can account for anywhere from .8 to .9lbs of breakfast roughly, adjust as necessary....

*Note I don't account for food in the belly when I weigh, I am just a little OCD when it comes to numbers...

I would just buy a bathroom scale if I were you.  I used to always weigh in at the gym and now I realize that its always higher then than when I weigh in in the morning.  I like to see my lowest weight possible!  :)  My weight will fluctuate anywhere between 4-6 pounds a day, so weird.
