Hey everyone!! Lately, my nails have been breaking all the time. I don't keep them long, so they're not breaking because they're too long, but they're breaking really easily. Is there some vitamin or mineral I could be deficit in that's causing my nails to be so brittle? I take a multivitamin every day and I eat a balanced diet, but I'm not sure what could be causing this.

I've had the same problem lately.  I'd be interested in hearing people's thoughts.

The most amazing polish for having healthy, non-brittle nails is Nailtiques.  Expensive but worth every dollar!  I've been using it for a year now and my nails have never been stronger and rarely break.

Some interesting reading here,(just the text not all the stuff for sale!)

I have the same problem. Have you had your thyroid checked? That is a symptom of low thyroid.
my nails have always been really breakable. normally it's not so much the breaking, it's if you have lines or divots in them... that means it's a mineral deficiency.

I have low thyroid but I have a prescription and take it daily. Maybe I'll have my doctor retest me to make sure I'm still getting enough.
