So I hardly ever get acne, but over the past few weeks I have HORRIBLE acne all over my chin and jawline.  Its disgusting looking and I was wondering if anyone had any idea what may have triggered it, because I havent really been doing anything differently.

Depending on where you live, it could be because of the weather.  I find that when the weather turns cold fast, and I don't moisturize enough, my skin will produce more oil and hence break out because the air is drier/colder.

A change in diet?

A change in cleanser?

A change in weather?

Have you recently had the heating on more at home?

A change of diet?

Boyfriend / Hubbys change of aftershave?

Do you cup your head in your hands? Have you been doing that a lot more lately, especially after touching something like a keyboard..? (if you're a student doing a lot of work, for example)  Using the phone (one that touches your jawline) more often?

These are somethings that can cause breakouts...

It's my understanding that breakouts on your jawline and chin area are caused primarily by hormones but I don't know if this is entirely true as I haven't done much researching on the subject... just wanted to throw in a different possibility..

Interesting.  I just switched from Depo to the pill and have been breaking out on my chin and jawline like crazy.  I sure hope it goes away in a few weeks!

hey dear,

well i recently got spots too but i didn't take any chances because usually my face is clear - i went to the doctor and they gave me differin cream and limecyline to help get rid of it, they said that i had got an infection in one of the pores and it had spread to the rest of my face. it takes a long time to get rid of, so go now before it gets worse. it may not be the same problem as mine, but at least you'll be told what to do about it.

I agree that it is most likely hormones or a change in weather. Is your monthly coming soon? That with a combination of a weather change can do it.

Also, be sure to wash your pillowcase and towels regularly. They may appear clean, but the oils that build up on them don't really show.
