Before I started losing weight I was a 38D, maybe a 40D.. I've lost about 20lbs since then and I haven't measured myself yet, but I think I've noticed a visible reduction in breast size.  When I was fatter, large breasts were the only thing that comforted me about my state! Now that I'm losing weight, will I lose this comfort too? Can anyone share? Thankfully I've always had a pretty proportionate body, roughly an hourglass shape, but I've heard that when you lose weight, the first place it sheds from is your chest.  :( This depresses me.  Any thoughts?

Sure wish I had that problem.

Yes, when you lose weight, you lose it wherever there is fat, and unless they are silicon, 40D is also fat.  Hey.. I never heard the guys complain about 36C.

Depends if they are mostly made up of fat, or tissue. Have they always been fairly large before you gained weight, or did they get big only after you gained?
yeah----a 36 c. is fantastic..
wish I was!
i'm smaller than a 32 A......makes me sick---
BUT ya know what----I can't wait to meet the man in my life who's gonna find them  AND ME super sexy no matter what :)
I can speak from experience that the chest is one of the first places I notice a gain, and it seems to lose proportionally. I have never lost the "hourglass" feature no matter how much I lost.

36C would be nice, hopefully mine will also tone up a bit because presently they sag a little, and i'm only 19! i want nice cleavage - i think there's too much space between them right now, so they don't look as good as they should in more low-cut outfits.

honestly...? my whole adolescent life has been one continuous weight gain.  one of the reasons why i want to lose weight is so i can literally 'find myself' beneath this flab.. i feel like i don't even know what God made me to look like, sometimes.  those are my bad days though.

i'm sure you will :) plus (i read your profile) as you gain more weight i'm sure they'll get bigger.  loving your positive attitude by the way, all that self-destructiveness out there gets annoying.

Hey ladies..

I just posted  about the same topic yesterday:-) I am 5"2", 114 lbs and a 36C. I was hoping theyd shrink a little when i reach my goal of 105.

Well yes they will get smaller, but then if you are tiny skinny, having a really large chest would look silly!

Poor me I am only a 36 B and thats with all the weight on, I think I will be non existant if I loose! :D

Well I can understand how you feel, mine started developing in grade 4 and all through school (at least until everyone else caught up) I was the one with big boobs, getting asked if I wore push up bras etc. I'm a 36C now, not really 'big' for my age anymore...but I've also worried about them shrinking, just because I've always had the bigger boobs.

But like mousickle said, once you're thinner, huge boobs aren't going to look right anyway, just hope they will be proportionate to the rest of you :)

Losing weight in the chest area doesn't apply to all women. In highschool, I was skinny and wore a DD. Now, I'm a bit bigger after having 2 kids. 30 lbs down, and still no loss in that area. I'm sure they'll stay the same considering that's how they were when I was a helluva lot smaller. It's different for each woman.
At one point I was a 40DD, approx 50 lbs later, 34F.  So...still big, but pretty much just the same proportion to my body.
I lost weight and my boobs got bigger - went from a 34D to a 32E - then I put on weight and they got bigger still...32FF!!! I really want them to come down again when I lose weight! An E was a nice size!
im in a similar position and agree thats its comforting having bigger boobs...but i found that my weight sees to come off my thighs and bum first-which is annoying as id prefer to lose weight from my top half. i guess it just depends where your body takes the fat from first? i have a general hour glass shape, but id prefer the weight to come of my tummy first!

proportion, proportion, proportion
what i have noticed is that for everyone weight seems to come off first where we dont want it to come off

From what I have read, whether you will lose breast size during weight loss and how much is determined by what type of tissue is in them.  If they are made mostly of fat, you will lose more of them; if they are made of more fiberous tissue, you will lose less of them.

For some people, the breast is the first place they lose, for others its the last place.  For me, for better or for worse, the breasts seem to be the last place I lose.  I have lost over 40 pounds in the last year and only went from a 44 DDD to a 42 DD so not much of it came from my chest.  I also have breasts made up of a lot of tissue and not as much fat.

Last year, I lost 25 lbs.  I went from 142 to 117.  My breasts were the 1st to go.  They went from about a C to an A cup.  I had to start wearing padded bras.  It was somewhat embarrassing.  It probably wouldn't have bothered me so much, but there was a crackhead-jealous-lady that I worked with at the time who commented on my breasts every time I saw her.  "You're losing so much weight!  You're really doing a good job.  You've lost it all in your breasts, though... You're so flat-chested now..."  She was an overweight redhead with beady little eyes, so I can understand her jealousy.

I'm 233 lbs and a 42 DDD, years ago I was a 34 D and dropped down to 110 lbs and wound up being a B cup, yes when I drop weight my brest size is reduced, from my view you should not be worried about going down in a size, here is why I say this at a DDD I have tingling in my hands bad back pain, embarrasment, difficulty finding bras, shirts and get weird looks even from other women, do not feel sad to reduce your size, think of all the great little tops you can wear, when I went down to a B cup I felt freedom like no other, big boobs are not what they are cracked up to be. I heard the other day on the program how to look good naked, that a d size breast weighs 19lbs, why carry that weight on your shoulders.

I went down a cup size and a band size but I tell you I look MUCH better in clothes now so it was a welcome change. Plus so much of my back pain has diminished! And they overall became a nicer shape, less saggage it appears. It's a good thing!
