Are there any 2010 brides out there looking for a buddy? Whens your wedding? What are your workout/diet plans? How has it been going so far? Have you looked for your dress?

My wedding date is June 19, 2010. I have around 30 lbs to loose and want most of it off before I shop for the dress. I have been very bad lately and today is day one of my wedding weight loss. I plan to commit 100% to making my goal weight of 115lbs.  I am super excited.

Hiya! just the thing that brought me back to CC after a couple months...wedding reality.

My date is June 6th 2010. I need to lose 40 lbs to make my goal of 118. I'm going to make my dress. I plan on committing about 98%...only because I know how I get gungho and crash and burn...So I'm going to take it slow this time...

I'm going to attempt a zig-zag calorie thingy. I'm also doing couch25k, yoga weekly and see where that takes me. I've got a year. I want to look good for pictures and all, but I've also kind of chosen this as my ultimatum to really change my habits.

Ok, this is going to sound strange, but I am already married but my "wedding" is on January 2, 2010.  We got married in a court ceremony almost 3 months ago because I had been an illegal immigrant to my husband's country (Italy) for about 6 months.  He started to get worried about the government criminalizing illegal immigration, so we took a vacation to the US to get married in the courthouse (you wouldn't believe how much less bureaucracy there is in the US than in Italy).

In any case, we had already been planning our wedding for Jan. 2, 2010, so we kept the date and have decided to do a vow renewal ceremony with a reception.  In any case, it is going to be exactly like a wedding!

I already have my dress, and I have already started losing some weight.  I started out at 165 and am current at 151 (aiming at 140-145).  I am tall, 5'10", so this should be a good weight for me!  In any case, the dress I tried on was already tight, and that is what the lady ordered because I said I was losing weight.  I have heard that this is a bad idea, but so far nothing has gone wrong with my weight loss...slow and steady does the trick.  My first fitting is in August and by then I should be at least at 145 if not lower.

As for my diet plans, I eat my bmr (1530 calories) a day and I try to get some workouts in, but I already do a lot of walking for my job (I am a private English teacher and I tend to walk to some of my students' homes).  I try to do tae bo because I can really feel it working my muscles (unlike when I run or something).  I also do some yoga and pilates, and I try to focus on my arms when I do strength training...I would love beautiful toned arms for my wedding pictures.  We just ordered a wii with the wii fit thing, so I will be doing that soon.

As for eating, I try to eat non-processed foods.  I always try to eat whole grains instead of white, and I definitely focus on getting enough protein.  I've found that I lose more when I get more protein.  I definitely eat a lot of veggies because I make homemade soup about 2-3 times a week.  I also love low fat plain yogurt with fruit in it...it's a yummy snack.  And at the end of the day, I always treat myself to about 15 grams of dark chocolate (an Italian maker called Amadei...it is delicious!).

hey, if you guys are interested, I started a group, "blushing brides of 2010" come join. I need members who want to support and be supported. come in and post some fun stuff, ladies!

Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
