Brides September Challenge
woohooooo Dacia, you hottie!!! =) Yay for you. Good goals too. Ok, here's a recap of me. I'm getting married in November (11/10/07) and started this cite to lose some weight. My goal for the end of September is to get down to that first goal of mine 130 lbs. I have about 5 lbs. to go and have had about 5 lbs. to go for a few weeks now. grrrr. But I'm getting into crunch time (two more months) so I really need to work on it. Eventually, I want to get down to 125-ish, but that will be a goal for later. So in order to get to that goal, I will not allow myself to drink more than one beverage of alcohol more than one night a week. I don't have much of a problem working out, it's the eating that gets me, especially when I drink alcohol. Hence, cutting out those extra calories in the alcohol. I've also joined an ab challenge this month, where we're to do at least 10 minutes of abs every day this month. So far, so good. I've completed 40 minutes of abs in the past 4 days of September. Also - Dacia forgot to mention, but we post our progress every Friday, so first weigh in is this Friday, September 7.
* edit - I've also just resolved to allow myself only two nights a week where I can drink alcohol. One night must be only one beverage. I'm working myself up to where I put a limit on the amount of beverages I can consume on the other night. Slowly, but surely. =)

Grandma Sue is back for more!
OK, goals for the month of September : 5 lbs.(trying to be realistic here, though I hope to do much better!)
Fitness: continue walking, at least 4X week and add water aerobics 1X week;
Calories to average 1400 or less per day, allowing for one "over the limit" day per week.
We've now set the wedding for 2/2/08, 11AM (to avoid the family conflict of another's wedding). My choir director has agreed to be my organist (she'd retired from that but is making an exception for me), my daughter will sing, his 4 yr old grandaughter will be our "flower girl" while the older 2 will be in charge of the sand for unity ceremony, our sons will usher, and my foster daughter will cater lunch reception! Now all that's left is to ask his daughter to do a reading, and hope she agrees. And I guess we'd better shop for some rings!

I'm getting married Nov 17th, and he just proposed 2 weeks ago so I've been very busy!
My goals for September:
lose 6 (or hopefully more)lbs.
lose 1" off my waist.
HIIT for 20 minutes, 3x's a week.
Weights 3x's a week.
I lost almost 7 lbs in August, so hopefully everyhting I'm doing will keep working.
I am also limiting my alcohol intake. I do log it, so if I'm going to have a drink I allow calories for it.

Well, my wedding date is set for June 21, so I still have a while to reach my goal. I'm hoping to lose 14 more pounds before the wedding (I've lost 15 so far). My weight loss has been very slow as of late... I probably couldn't give an accurate amount per week because my weight has been fluctuating, but I would say that it has been 1 pound per week or less.

Lottie - Congratulations on your engagement! We are thrilled you are joining us!
Here are my stats:
Starting Weight: 183.3 on 9/1
Goal Weight: 178.8 on 9/28 (goal of 1.5 pounds lost weekly)
Waist: 36" (oh my goodness) on 9/1
Exercise: 6 Hours weekly (60 minutes 6 days a week of bicycle riding) plus 10 minutes of core/abdominal exercises daily
Additional Goal: Purchase a new scale by the end of the month and become more aware of my alcohol consumption
I LOST another 1.5 pounds this week and am down to 181.8! YEA! Honestly, I am surprised that I lost because I have had a rather stressful week that (hopefully) peaked yesterday and I ate wrong yesterday. I managed to avoid temptation and not eat a maple bar in the morning at work, but I did indulge in the popcorn in the afternoon (and it's not 'good for you popcorn' it is Blast 'o Butter by Jolly Time). Then, I bought a bag of Frito-Lay Smartone's Popcorn and shared the whole bag with Scott last night. Plus, we dined on take-out Domino's Pizza (Thin Crust Mushroom plus a piece of Pepperoni). In addition, I have been horrible at inputting my foods into the system this week (not like me at all). I have been writing them down, but not inputting them. So...I will be getting back on track with that this upcoming week and I plan on going back and inputting everything else this week.

I know it's already a week into September, but I'd love to hop on board!
I've been engaged since January 1, 2006, and we've finally set a date of August 2, 2008. I'm super-stoked but have less than 11 months to finish planning and slim down (and graduate somewhere in there!)!
Here are my stats:
Age/Gender: 24/Female
Height: 5'3"
Starting weight: 140.5
Goal weight: 115-130 by July 1, 2008
Exercise goals: M-F: go to the gym after work (it's soooo hard to do because I go to school for my master's degree AND a second bachelor's and I work a full-time job, so I'm usually pooped by 6:00!); 55 minutes total on elliptical, 20-30 minutes circuit training with weight machines.
Caloric intake goals: Average 1300-1600 calories per day; limit the Taco Bell (Satan invented that place, I swear--I would eat there every day if I could, which I know is SO GROSS!) and other fast foods to only one junk food night per week.
Additional goals: Increase the amount of sleep I get--I've been averaging 4-5 hours per night since school started up again, which I know isn't enough; take fiber supplement regularly; drink 64 oz water minimum per day (right now I average 30 or less and supplement the rest with pop, milk, lemonade, etc.)
I think the idea of weekly weigh-ins is BALLER and will motivate me with peer pressure...good luck to everyone! Have a nice weekend!
O my Jessica, you've got your work cut out for you! I admire that you're able to go to school for two degrees, work full time, plan a wedding and lose weight! My goodness!!!! Well, I've been engaged since October 3, 2006 and we're getting married this November. We picked a far away date in order to save money. We bought a house instead. So we're still struggling for the wedding. May i just say that a 1 year engagement has been looooooong. I'm so ready to just be married and NOT have to plan a wedding. With that said, you go girl!
Hi everyone else. Seems as if we are all losing weight, slowly but surely. Good for you guys! I too, lost some weight, so I'm happy! here's my stats:
Sept. 1 weight:134.4 Today's weigh in: 133.3 Lost 1.1lbs this week. Yay! This is my lowest weight I've been in a while. I've actually gotten down to 133.1 once, but i went right back up. I'm hoping I can break this 133 barrier. My goal at the end of September is to get to 130 or below. Good luck! =)

I have been out of comission exercise-wise becasue I hurt my back. My doc says no weight for a week, but I have still to cardio at least.

YEA! Down another 1.5 pounds (actually the scale said 179, but I am not trusting that number)! I improved on imputting my foods into the system and have continued my exercise trend (and improved). I ate way to much a few days, but was able to exercise enough to get my totals within a reasonable range and still loose weight; however, I am going on vacation beginning this afternoon and won't be returning until late on the 23rd. I am going to continue to count my calories, exercise and weigh when I get home (well, the next morning maybe) but I must say I am very nervous! Excited to be going on vacation and get away from work for a week, but very nervous to leave my steady routine. I will still have my bicycle and most of the tools I need (minus the internet) and if I feel everything is too difficult, I can go to the closest library for internet access to see where my calories are ranging. So, I think I will be okay. Anyway, I won't be posting my weight until Monday, the 24th.
Remember, stay motivated and perserver through the difficult times. Great job Grandma Sue on 2 more pounds. I hope you heal quickly from your injury Lottie! You will improve next week...I cannot wait to read all about it! Take care everyone!

Lottie - dont worry about the gain. It's very small, and I'm in your boat. I seem to be teetering and tottering around the same weight consistently over the past several weeks now. Although my weigh in today says I lost .1 pounds, just yesterday I was up at 140.2. I dont know what's up with my weight. At least you have an excuse, me, I dont have one. =( But I'm not disheartened, I'm only encouraged to continue and try harder. So here's my weigh in for the week:
9/1: 134.4
9/7: 133.3
9/14: 133.2
I supposedly have a .1 loss, but I highly doubt it. This whole week, i've been right around the 134 range, and only today somehow got down to 133.2 I dont quite get it. Anyways, here's to another weekend, and I'm hoping that I'm able to keep that extra weight off that I always seem to gain come monday morning!
