Just wondering how many of us are on here?!

Im English, originally from a satellite town about 30 minutes away from London, now studying in my second year of University in Exeter.

Would be cool if we could recommend low calorie foods and snacks we can obtain over here instead of me being all jealous of good ideas and foods that you can only get in the US!

I'm gonna recommend Jaffa Cakes (wooo!) and Snack-a-jacks, literally could not live without them!

(P.S Anyone hear about the football riots in Manchester last night - what the hell?! I thought we were over all this, its so frustrating that a small minority can ruin it for everyone.)

Hey there,

I probably live in about the same area, I live in Hampshire, 45mins outside of London and I am also a university student but am at Aberystwyth uni, Wales.

I don't tend to buy too many snacks as I like to eat fresh/dried fruit, veg or nuts as snacks. Although Natural Valley Crunchy Granola bars are yummy! They have oats n honey (good sugar!) and keep you going through the afternoon. Whittards skinny hot chocolate is really good as well for an evening treat! Less than 100cal :-)

hiya,

Im from Surrey, bout an hour from London.  just finishing my third year at uni in York, then back to living in surrey!

I tend to just snack on fruit, veg and plain yoghurt etc rather then branded stuff, but I know what you mean about USA food, I'm always hearing about luna bars, cliff bars, kashi go lean etc, but we cant get them! Also when searching for english products on CC it often doesn't have them!

I have the exact same problem - I've given up trying to log food because I can never find what Im eating so I substitute stuff which I think might be the same.... and it all gets very inaccurate and complicated!

I do love my fruit and veg too; theres so many farm shops in Devon which are suprisingly cheap - especially compared to Tesco etc. I can get groceries for the week for under a tenner!

Hi Ladies- an Irish lass here, from county Armagh! I hear you about the US snacks- WTF? I use a website to log my intake (www.foodfocus.co.uk) and it track my loss/gains. Their food log has most stuff, and lets you enter foods if they're not there (far more simply than here!)

I tend to snack on popcorn if I'm really craving something. Or Quavers if I need a 'flavour'? Also, I buy fun-size bags of treats for the kids & have some in the freezer if I get a choc-attacK!

OMGosh Justine! I go to Aber Uni too! Cool

Well I'm from pretty much all over, so I don't have a home town... though I spent most of my childhood in Canada, so I guess thats where I'm from lol I've lived in Zambia, Leicester, Vancouver, Kingston, Gateshead and now in Machynlleth, Wales.

Snacks are usually fresh fruit or homemade cookies... I love baking but baking doesn't love my hips :(

Irishmum, I've never thought of freezing chocolate like that, I'll have to try it when I reach my mini goal, yum!

Good job my daughter loves to make me play badminton hehe

My motivation right now is I've been invited to my bf work ball and need to it into my ball dress again! I just squeezed into it last time, and I would like to wear it comfortably. And not long after that he's taking me to an REM gig in Amsterdam, can't wait!

Mini Smarties are really good & last ages if you suck them! LOL!

I think I'd have to crunch them... although I DID manage to suck a fruit pastel all the way, but only once, after the advert said it couldn't be done lol
