so did you eat it raw or microwaved now? I always steem mine in the microwave and I think you could definitely say there's some kinda sweetness to it, compared to raw broccoli.
Whenever I cook carrots in the microwave they go very sweet.
i microwaved the broccoli.
but it was just so surprising (the sweet taste) so im wondering if something might have been off or whether thats normal

actually I'd say it was just fine. Cooking brings out some of the sugars adn improves the flavor {as long as you dont' over do it and wind up with mush}. It is a great way to eliminate some of the bitter edges that some people don't like with some veggies.
I usually just put mine on a microwave safe dish, drip a bit of water on it, and cover loosely and microwave just until it is bright green. the moisture steams it.

Definitely agree! Up until like a day ago, I hated broccoli and cauliflower... but then I microwaved them and OMG YUM! It's great because I was really stressing about the fact that I didn't like many veggies, but the added sweetness helps alot. I also season them with pepper and ginger!
Some broccoli is "sweeter" than others I find.
