Is broccoli slaw as nutritious as broccoli flowers?

The grocery store has pre-shredded broc-o-slaw that has very light green shreded broccoli stems. This is a very low calorie filling food for me, but is it as nutritious as the dark green broccoli heads?
Answer
Broccoli flowerettes are more nutritious than broccoli slaw which is made from the stalks. For instance, broccoli flowers have considerably more vitamin A and selenium, although other nutrients, like calcium, iron and folate, are about the same. However, broccoli slaw is still a very nutritious food and it fills the bill for use as a chopped raw vegetable. The nutritional value of broccoli slaw is ever better when mixed with shredded carrots, onion, raisins, etc.
