Broccoli Slaw ROCKS

Quote  |  Reply

I wanted tuna salad ssandwich for lunch today and this morning while packing, I didn't have celery or onion which I like to add to tuna salad for a little crunch.

So instead I added a couple handfuls of broccoli slaw.

Dang this stuff ROCKS!  It's SO versatile!

So here is my little list of htings I like to do with broccoli slaw

* Use as a crunchy additive to chicen or tuna salad

* Make a really fast stir fry

* make an asian salad with it and cooked shrimp and Newman's light sesame ginger salad dressing

It does indeed!

What is brocolli slaw? I've never heard of it

on here it says 1/2 c is only 66 cals. i'm going to try this!

It's bagged broccoli stems in thin matchstick slices with carrot and cabbage - sort of like cole slaw in a bag without dressing, but it has the broccoli stalks added to it and its way crunchy!

Find in produce dept by the bagged lettuce and cole slaw and such

EDIT

The broccoli slaw that is 60 some cals per half cup might be a prepared broccoli slaw with dressing ..... its a fairly popular side dish in some areas ... I am talking just the naked veggies, no dressing included

Hey! I used it in chicken fahitas last night instead of fried(in grease) onions and peppers. I just sprayed a little Pam in the pan and heated til warm, but still crisp.

Very good  and filling, not to mention low in fat and high in nutrients !

lol, I eat the whole 5 cup baggie from safeway's eating right collection... lol. That and some walden farms makes Mel a happy girl! :D

Three Cheers for Broccoli Slaw!

l love broccoli slaw, mine says a cup is 30cals though.

i eat mine with the sesame ginger dressing also! very good! the kind i bought from trader joe's is only 25 cals for 1-1/4 cup:) makes a very good side to some soup or a sandwich
