Settle. Its ok.
What is happening is, although you're doing less, you're eating more. To me (and I'm no doctor) it sounds like maybe your eating out of comfrot/boredom etc.
Its hard that you can't exercise. Is there any way you can do leg lifts? Moreso for later - so when you get back into it you're not super sore. Even just sitting on a chair, bend one knee, keep it on the ground and straighten the other leg. Lift as high ans you can, hld for a sec, lower to just off the ground and repeat 10-15 times per leg? Can you walk around. You'll still burn.
Just make sure your food choices are smart. I'm not sure how you eat, but its hard to reach my calories each day for ma, as I eat mainly fruit and veg, with a bit of meat. I tend to save the "processed things" - cereals, sugary stuff etc. for when i need to make up cals, and have things like oats, and filling foods, first thing in the morning.
Also, find a hobby. That isnt related to food. Reading (maybe e-books or ipod books) or something. Or watch movies.
Just hang in there. It'll get better

Im sorry to hear of your accident! I know how it feels to be unable to keep active (had a couple of cycling accidents, left me unable to do anything for a while) Can you go for shorter walks? I wouldn't push too much, because if you don't allow your collar bone to heal properly, you'll have much more to worry about in the future, than losing a bit of weight you have gained while recovering from this injury. Maybe you could drop your calorie intake a wee bit to compensate for not being active. (not too low though, your body needs calories to heal)
Make sure to rest up though, and try your best to eat healing foods, rather than comfort (assumingly unhealthy??) foods. Add MSM powder to your water, this helps with bones and joints. Make sure you're getting proper protein and calcium to help repair your poor collar bone. And keep hydrated!

When I lost my first 15 lbs i did it with counting calories alone. No real change in exercise.
So you can try counting your calories to ensure you don't go over maintenance (or under if you want to lose some weight you have gained back).
As for your appetite, well, your body got used to exercise and a higher calorie content. You'll have to bit the bullet and start from the ground up getting it used to a lower calorie content.
No magic formula, no special pills. Just will power. You did it once, do it again

As far as excercise goes - could you use an excercise bike? I was thinking that if you took it easy it might not move your upper body at all. You wouldn't be able to go "all out", but it would be something.
Also, I agree with bigtwinky. Counting calories really works even if you're not able to excercise for awhile.

I don't know if you have a gym membership but, at my gym they have these stationary bikes that have seats kind of like a chair with a back and your legs go out sort of forwards instead of down. I think something like that would at least get your heart rate up and tone your legs w/out too much stress on the broken bones.
thanks guys, i never thought about those bikes.. thats such a good idea, i will give them a try.. and as far as counting calories, i have startd again..

Ok, how about you venture into some new veggies? I used to HATE things like spinach and pumpkin, but they're great now! How about some cottage cheese.
I dont think you need power bars if you're sitting around, not exercising tho. I guess they are low fat, but often arent they high cal?
What type of milk do you drink?
