Brownies Mmmmm.....

Quote  |  Reply
I made the most delicious brownies ever! Once i took them out of the oven 15 minutes later, they were all nice, soft and mushy, i know we have to keep them in the oven for about 20 minutes but i thought of taking them out a couple of minutes before and they turned out great, its as if the bottom was cooked and at the top they were all soft and creamy, omg they were sooooooo good!!
but my question is... do any of you have low-cal brownie recipes? because the original recipe is pretty high cal because of the butter sugar

I came across a thread a while back under diet/recipes.  Apparently if you mix 1 box of brownie mix & 1 can of black beans, it makes a yummy brownie.  I've never tried it - but one day I will.  Sounds gross, but everyone who made them said you would never know you were eating beans.
Kind of like what chanb suggested, you can substitute any oils/eggs/butter in the recipe for applesauce. Just be sure to double it. Ex: 1/4 cup oil calls for 1/2 cup applesauce. You can also do this with yogurt and pumpkin, according to hungry-girl.

There are also No-Pudge Brownies. They have alot of different recipes, and they're a really good alternative to regular brownies.

Entemann's sells 100-calorie packs of Brownie Bites. There are 3 small brownies to a pack. They are SO GOOD. Just thinking of them makes me want one!

Oh and the No Pudge are really good too, especially when you're in the mood for a warm brownie (rather than the packs), and you can make them in single servings -- just add yogurt! And perhaps a little fat-free sugar-free whipped topping :)
You can also use canned pumpkin in place of oil. I use double the applesauce or pumpkin. For example, if it calls for 1/4 cup oil, I use 1/2 cup pumpkin. You can also use prune puree.
