Does anyone else have this problem? And if so do you know why? I have always bruised easily (my friends say I'm like a banana lol) but lately its been worse. I have lots of little bruises on my arms and legs. There are a few finger marks from a friend grabbing me playfully (not hard at all), and one big one where I scraped my thigh on a table, and now its just a huge bruised mess, in odd square shapes where I put bandaids over the cut. My first thought is that it coule be a vitamin b deficiency. I'm a vegetarian, and my doctor told me to be careful to get enough b complex. But I'm wondering what other causes there are? I looked it up and bruising is a symptom of everything from not eating right to cancer.

Self-diagnosis (or internet diagnosis) is not a good idea.  Listen to your doctor and if you need more vitamin B-rich foods in your diet (and I would suggest more iron & C vitamins as well) then make a big effort to follow the instructions.  If that doesn't have an effect then go back to your doctor and ask them what to do next.  Medical diagnosis is a process of elimination ie. start with the obvious causes and if treating those doesn't make the patient better, move on to the next possible cause and treat that.

had the same problem  i hate it too my legs look like a mess cause i play lots of sports with kids and esspecially when i was a waitres it was the worst.  someone told me vitamin k and grape sead extract would help.  never tried it.  i just try to be real careful.  i wont even play soccar with a real football!

I have the same problem though not as severe, i seem to always have bruises on my legs despite not remembering bumping into anything.

Its probably not serious but its best to speak to your doctor about it to rule out medical problems.

Yep, time to see a real live doctor. The thing about the bandaids seems especially worrisome.

I always have bruises on my shins that I don't recall getting, but it doesn't sound anything like as severe as you're experiencing.

As gi-jane alluded to, bruising easily is often a sign of anaemia (iron deficiency).
