Bruscetta Topping Recipe

Makes 4 servings


Great tasting and healthy topping for bruschetta. Serve on warm toasted whole wheat bread.

Ingredients
3 tomatoes, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
3 boiling onions, chopped
3 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp oregano
1 tbsp basil leaves
1 tsp black pepper
Directions
  1. Combine olive oil, oregano, and basil in sauce pan.

  2. Chop tomatoes, garlic and onions and add to sauce pan.

  3. Sprinkle black pepper.

  4. Warm and stir on medium heat to combine flavors. About 10 minutes.

  5. Drain off excess liquid if desired.

  6. Spread 2 tablespoons on a normal sized slice of whole wheat toast.
