Hi Everyone--

I'm new to CC and am looking for friends on this site to help with the motivation.  It's great to see so many people  doing such great things!

A little history: my heaviest weight was 278lbs. in September 2004.  Between then and December 2006, I lost almost 100lbs to get down to my lifetime lightest of 185lbs.  I never got to my goal of the 100-pound weight-loss mark because I started dating a boy and got into a 16-mo. relationship, in which I gained 60lbs.  Now that I've graduated college and am single again, I'm ready to get back on track!  So here's to health.

victoriagirl, welcome back!  Hope you had a great time on your holidays.  I gained a little too, but luckily those holiday pounds were only visiting and they have now gone away.  Whew!!  I am sure yours will leave too.

Hopefully now that the holidays are over more people will come back to posting.  But, if not, let's keep it up .  It certainly is helping me to be accountable for my eating choices and exercise choices.

jpoage, I am really happy for you but unspeakably jealous of your loss. It's so unfair that mine has gone up....and there's no reason for it. I did everything right last week, good on both intake and exersize, and got nothing for it, then this week I am insulted with 251. Oooooh that scale is on thin ice.

victoriagirl, I know how you are feeling.  A couple of weeks ago, I was questioning whether it was a misdemeanor or felony to shoot your scale.  (The consensus was it would be a misdemeanor)  Luckily I didn't do anything drastic and it started cooperating again.  It's not being overly generous, but it is going in the right direction.  And it will for you too!

I understand!  I spent weeks bouncing between 246 and 251 even though my calories were on target and I was exercising.  When I stepped back to really look at my food intake, I realized that my vegetable intake was lacking in comparison to the previous few months.   I started eating more vegetables and, like magic, the scale started moving in the right direction.  Coincidence?  Maybe.  I don't know.  I just know that it's frustrating to do the right thing and not see the results you deserve. 

Hang in there.  Be nice to yourself.   Keep doing the right thing and the numbers will fall in place.

NOTHING!  Oh well, at least it didn't go up.  I have decided my scale is frozen.  It got down into the 30's last night here in FL, so that's my theory.  Smile

I know I have been doing good with the exercise and I have been staying within my calories, although I could eat better.  Especially with the salt.  I would much rather have a salty snack than a sweet one.  I've mostly cut those out by not having chips or anything in the house.  I think I'm drinking enough water but I think I will keep track of that for the next few days.  Maybe I'm not drinking as much as I think I am.  I don't know, I'm just grasping at straws here. 

Oh well, here's to a better week next week.

Back down to 248....I feel that this time next week, I will be at a new low. I just feel it....and, I plan to give it a little push too, I'll be biking to work 4 days this week, and keeping my cals around 1900 per day, and jpoage your suggestion about veggies sounds good. I've been a little lax there lately so it won't hurt, that's for sure.

Gracie, no worries about your little stall this week, you have been doing so well overall, sometimes our bodies need a little adjustment time (though mine seems to have taken a 4 month adjustment time!! ) I am sure your next week will be great.

Sigh, too!  Victoriagirl, at least your scale moved a little.  I actually picked mine up and shook it, I thought maybe it was stuck on something.  It wasn't.  But to be honest, I have not been eating right.  Staying close within my calories range, but not good calories.  And a lot of sodium in those calories.  So I have only myself to blame (although I like blaming the scale, it can't defend itself). 

Oh well, here's to a better week for both of us!

Finally!  I am not complaining about the loss, but it would be nice if I could lose a pound a week instead of going three weeks with nothing and then losing 3.  I was starting to get frustrated.   

I highly recommend shaking the scale.  Apparently it worked this week. Smile

It's been a while since I first posted my stats.  I'll try to do this every other week!

I call unfair....the scale has been 243 since Sunday, but today shot back up to 246, even said 248 at one point, wtf! I worked out hard last night though, so maybe that's why, also its pms time so some extra water retention there too....anyway I was going to report the 243 but in the interest of honesty, that's what I got today. Poo.

And congrats gracie!!!! That's awesome, soon you will pass me!

Thanks!  I don't think I'll be passing you ever, but at least I am heading in the right direction.  I am impressed with your honesty.  If my scale had said 243, I might have gone with that, no matter what it said today.  I think your scale is trying to mess with your head.  They're evil things, you know.
