HELP!!!  I have a dilema...okay so my scale that I have been complaining about started popping and was still giving me weird weights (I would weigh myself a couple of times in a row and it would be majorly different sometimes) so yesterday I bought a new one.  It's a fancy one like they use at my doctors office and it even has sensors that measure your body fat.  It differs ALOT from my other scale...10 pounds different.  It says I weigh 303...I can not believe that I have gained 10 pounds in a week, no way...I haven't really cheated.

I am really depressed because I don't know if I have gained weight or if it is just the scales having a difference.  I feel horrible though because I am over 300 again.

Cry  Tanya

My boyfriend's scale is consistently 4.5 lbs more than mine, so i always subtract off 4.5 lbs when i weigh on his....even though I am pretty sure his is more accurate than mine (the scale at the gym is usually about 4 lbs more than mine too).

I think the point of the scale is really to monitor change more than anything else....I mean it gives you a general idea of where you are, but should not be taken too exactly. Since your new scale is not your old scale, yes there will be a difference. I am sorry it is higher instead of lower!! And it sure does suck to have to "go back" to 10 lbs ago. Just know that it's only a difference in the scale, and that does not negate the progress you have made. You are physically still the same person as on your old scale!

I would freak if i got a new scale and it said I was 10 lbs more than I thought, though, too....that stinks :( just try not to take it too seriously!

I was hoping for more, but I went out of town for Father's Day Weekend and pretty much ate maintenance for a few days.

CW: 272.5 :(

I am sad. I thought my plateau was broken last week, but this week my weight has bounced back up to the same f-ing weight I have been for a month. I am maintaining a calorie deficit of 500-800 cals per day. I am trying zig-zagging but it's not working, I think I have to have a bigger difference between my zigs and zags. I am also trying to cut carbs even further to about 42%, I examined my spreadsheet and it seems I have lost more on weeks that my carbs are lower, so maybe that will help. And cutting sodium...I know it's too high but I should still be losing weight week to week, it's not like retaining water prevents fat loss, so I dunno.

I am angry. I am doing ALL THE RIGHT THINGS, why I am being held back. It's not fair. And there's no one to blame, so I have no where to direct my anger. Agh, life's not fair.

Bring it on!  SW 380, CW 289, GW 180-ish.  Right now facing a hump:  a few health set-backs, weird water-weight issues (quick ups and downs depending on sodium and food sensitivities), and generally finding it challenging to celebrate my success (I hit 98# lost a couple weeks ago!) when I still have a hundred pounds to go!

Could it be that the plateau has really broken this time? I am witholding celebrations until I see a yet lower number next week, since I was prematurely excited two weeks ago and then just see-sawed back up....I am actually only down .5 of a lb since two weeks ago (reading was 269) so definately waiting to see what happens for next week.

iknowmychicken and ks5857, good work!!! Those are some impressive numbers. I want that too!!

It's been a rough couple of weeks! Kids done school, two road trips, restaurant food, and both my husband and son having (scheduled) surgeries. Back home now and hopefully back on track!

Finally things are moving again, and in the right direction (most of the time!) It's weird but I think I have actually become more sensitive to sodium...I never had these issues with fluctuation until a few weeks ago...I always just had a steady week-to-week loss. Hmm.

iknowmychicken, it's hard - and sometimes impossible - to stay on track when you have to eat away from home. It's knowing how to pick right back up when you get home that's important, right?! Hey I think we have been abandoned here in the 250+ buddies group. Hope you will not leave for a 200+ group or something :)

double post

Victoriagirl you are exactly right! And it does seem like we've been abandoned here! LOL Oh well, I'm gonna keep posting here until I'm at my goal to remind myself of how far I've come! ;-)

I'd like to join.

And up again, dammit...nothing to be sorry about though, I have been meeting my daily targets, eating well, biking to work. Too much sodium a couple days ago prolly did me in...so I should have some good results to report next week if I can shake it!

Sorry no weigh for me ...again! LOL I'm in Vancouver with no access to a scale. Will post next Wednesday for sure.

Hope you are having a great time in Vancouver, I will be there this weekend too!
