No real loss, holding steady. Whatever. I am going to try to calorie-cycle this week, Satudrday is going to be a drinkin night so maybe massive quantities of vodka will shake it loose lol

Would it be okay if I joined? I really need the motivation.  I started last week, Oct 13, and thought I would have a bigger first week loss.  But a loss is a loss, right?

Four lbs IS a huge loss! Clearly you are on the right track. Welcome!

victoriagirl, thanks for the welcome and the encouragement.  I guess I just thought I would lose 10 or 15 pounds the first week.  But you're right, 4 pounds is good and in the right direction.  I put 180 as my goal weight, but right now I would give anything to be below 250.  You guys seem to be going like gangbusters and I hope to join in. :)

Well, it's Wednesday so here are my numbers.

I have to admit I had a little help from a nasty head cold last week and didn't feel like eating.

I hope it's not too late to join in.

I eventually will want to choose a different goal weight but right now I chose that weight goal because I can't remember a time when I was under 200 pounds!!!  If I reach 199 I will be so excited :-)  I can't wait till then so I can go shopping, yay new clothes.

Oh, and I started my "diet" about 2 weeks ago, almost 3.

STILL same. Arghhh....but there's hope....my sodium has been really super high the past few days (I bought a ham) - we are talking like 5000 mg yesterday and close to that the day before -  so if it's holding steady and not going up from the sodium, maybe the sodium is covering an actual LOSS!! Woo hoo...I am going with that theory.

Victoriagirl, I totally agree with your theory.  Sodium is going to be a huge obstacle for me.  I love anything salty.  I could even add salt to chips!  Hang in there, I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised with a loss soon.

sherrys1979, welcome.  I just started my diet (this time) on October 13, so we are in about the same place.  I have found CC to be a great place and very welcoming and supportive.  And I know what you mean about being under 200.  I am so going to do a happy dance in the middle of my street when I reach that!

Me too! Many, many happy dances!!

gracie, thanks for the encouragement....I am jealous of your 5 lb loss but I know that you are at the beginning, when I was at the beginning my weekly losses were much bigger too, so I am trying not to be TOO jealous ;). I am generally ok with my loss slowing so much, it's just being in a complete stall that's frustrating....it will pass. Soon I hope.

welcome sherry! You are on your way!

Thanks for the welcome.  I have found CC to be very helpful and I love this site.  And when I reach my 199 goal who knows what I'll do LOL  I might cry from happiness or start dancing around or just go crazy with excitement. :-)

victoriagirl, I am terrified that I only loss the 5 pounds because I was sick and that next week, not only will I have not lost anything, but will have gained it back!  But I am going to try to keep a positive attitude and we'll see what happens.  I just took a 20 minute walk in the middle of the day!  That's a first for me.  Maybe my fear will motivate me even more.  ;)

Haha fear is a grat motivator...and if anything can help you get more active, well that's a good thing!

A few months ago I was sick, I lost 5 or so lbs that week and it actually stayed off! Being sick would rock if it didn't suck so much lol

Wish it had been over a pound but a loss is a loss, right?  But I really, really wanted to be in the 270s.  Little goals for now, bigger goals later.

Jen, congratulations on breaking through that plateau and getting below 250.  That is my first goal.  I can't wait to be closer to 200 than 300!  Good luck to everyone.

 Thanks!

Congratulations to you too!  I peeked at your profile and I know the struggle to put self first (or at least toward the top of the list) too well.   Good luck!
