I'm from Detroit...currently "between opportunities" like everyone else in this freakin' state. I'm getting married in February. I have no kids but 2 kitties.
I'm 28 5'6" 215 this morning. I really want to get back down to 160lbs. I think I got a little too happy when I moved in with my boyfriend and started eating like a "man" lol so I need all the motivation I can get it!
I’m from Ireland, and married with five years. Was 129lbs on my wedding day so have gained about two stone since. Want to start a family in the next year so I’m trying to eat more healthily and trim down.
How about we weigh in on either Monday or Friday mornings??
Good morning. I seemed to have lost my motivation as of late and think a group like this may be a great idea for me. My stats are:

I have joined a couple of different accountability (weigh in) threads and they all seem to fall apart after a month or so. So I am always on the lookout for a new one.
I am 5'6", 31 yrs, 2 sons, getting married in April. I kinda/sorta started losing weight during 2007, but only got rid of about 10 lb the whole year. I really committed to a healthy lifestyle in 2008.
I have gone from:
233.5 (January 2008)
to
194 (Sept 8, 2008)
I am hoping to get to 160 by 1 month before my wedding. So March 18 is the cutoff date, and whatever weight I get to on that day.... I will need to maintain that weight (or very close to it) until after the wedding for sizing purposes.
Either Fridays or Mondays would be fine. I guess I might push for Fridays because I tend to eat less healthy over the weekend, and Monday weigh in might be scary. But then again, maybe that would give me more incentive to do well on the weekends... so I will be fine with either day. Just let us know!!

I am married and have 2 boys busy most of the time. I suggest a Friday weigh in. Mondays are bad because of the weekend. Just a suggestion, just tell me when.

Hi all,
It’s great to get so many replies to my post. I’d say everyone would prefer to weigh in on Fridays so they can be bold over the weekend but I think that maybe Mondays would be better as then we will all have to be good over the weekends. I seem to do most of my eating at the weekends and undo all my good work. So I end up the same weigh after dieting for the week. Monday weigh-ins it is if ye are up for the challenge!!!
Below is a list of the people who replied to this post along with their current details. Maybe we should give ourselves a target weigh loss for next week after we weigh in on Monday. I suggest a pound or two per week as a goal. It’s up to everyone to make up their own target, so that your goal weigh can be achieved in the desired time frame.

Ok, Monday it is.....I'm not sure if I'll have a goal each week. I've lost 6 pounds over the last 4 weeks and you know how that stupid fluctuation thing goes. Ok, I'll report back in a few days. Good luck ya'll.
P.S. I just got a kettlebell dvd so I expect to be workin' on my muscles. Hopefully weight/fat loss will still come for me. Maybe I'll measure myself instead.

karenosull, My goal date is actually march 18 not march 8. I'm sure its just a typo, but it looks like you are keeping record of this, so I wanted to make sure I get those last 10 days... I might need them! LOL
It looks like I will have to average 1.26 lb per week to get to my end goal.... so i will set my weekly goal as 2 lb, since we all know that there will be plenty of weeks where it falls short, and that way maybe I will still stay on track over the long haul!
I will check in on Monday with an official weight and hopefully lose at least 2 lb by the following monday!
I usually try to have a "category" goal each week too. If I've been eating too much sodium or fat lately that will be my category of extra emphasis for that week. Or if I've been struggling at the gym, exercise might be my category. Or drinking water, etc. I will try to list my category for each week. No one else has to do this (unless you want to), but its something that seems to help me not be overwhelmed by ALL the categories at once. And, of course, I've noticed that all of the categories improve gradually as time goes on and I have to raise the bar higher!

Good Morning All
It now 10am here in Ireland and I weighed in at 8am this morning at 151.8 lbs. That’s down 1.4 lbs since last Monday. My goal for next week is to loose one pound as I have a company work day out with evening dinner on Friday.
