Bulimia Recovery Help

Quote  |  Reply

I have been struggling with a binge/purge cycle for the past 7 months, about four months into it, my family and friends started to find out and it stopped...for a little....they don't know that i've sinced relapsed and do it like 3 times a week. It really is addictive and I don't know what to do. I just feel like there is all of this rediculous food at my house in massive quantities (especially candy now that it's after halloween) and i can't control myself. I don't want to tell my parents about my relapse because they almost make recovery worse. Everytime they talk to me it's about my weight (which is fine...140 at 5 7 isn't so bad) and it could only get worse.

I think if I had an accountability buddy or someone that i could talk to about recovery or message when i'm having a hard time would really help me out. If you are going through the same thing i would love to talk to you. Anyone who is willing to help PLEASE message me. I thought i could recover on my own but i just can't.

If you can't 'recover on your own', go to see a doctor and get yourself referred to a counsellor or therapist that specialises in disordered eating.  Forced vomiting can kill and the longer you go without treatment, the bigger the risk.  CC is not appropriate place to support people unless they are in active recovery and receiving expert medical care.

I know how you feel its REALLY difficult isn't it? I'm guessing that you may have started coming on this for the same reasons that I have. That's not to say it's a good idea. Obsessing about your weight it very difficult to stop I totally understand that. I wouldn't mind talking to you if you need any help, I'm currently trying to recover from an ED too. x
