Bulimia recovery problem!

Quote  |  Reply

Okay, so I'm trying hard to beat my anorexia and bulimia, but I have a problem. I can't seem to feel "full" without binging so what I have started doing is eating very little throughout the day ( about 600 cal) so that at night I can eat like 600 cal at once, and feel full but not guilty. I hate this because I am hungry all day and only feel satisfied at night before bed. Oh and I have tried to eat good small meals throughout the day but I am always hungry!!!!

You should definitely be talking to a professional about this. It's super unhealthy. A dietician or nutritionist could help you figure out a plan that will let you eat small but nutricious meals throughout the day that would keep you full without binging.

With any kind of eating disorder, there's always more at work than the food aspect though, and a psychologist can definitely help you out. It may sound unnecesary, but it might be the only thing that really makes a change in your eating habits.

In the meantime, if you feel like binging, try getting used to binging on healthy things. Eat a huge salad, or carry a bag of snow peas with you and munch on those all day. They have very little calories, will fill you up, and won't destroy your body.

Also, remember, nothing will change over night, when you make a healthy change, it'll take your body a few weeks to get over the cravings for the fatty, salty, and sugary crap it's used to. If you can ride it out, it'll get easier.

Like stated, that's extremely unhealthy... The best way to eat is by having a bigger breakfast and the smallest meal of the day being dinner... I know it's tough I've done the same, but eat foods with high protein and fiber, they'll make you feel more full, or yeah "binge" on a whole bowl of salad. It has less calories then one chocolate bar...

I didn't start losing weight till I followed this cycle. Eat a bigger breakfast then 4-5 small meal/snacks throughout the day with about three hours between, and don't eat anything after 7PM.
