Burn the Bridge GANG (This boat is leaving 200's and entering Onederland) ALL ABOARD
They say never burn bridges.
However, this is one bridge I want to burn.
I'm on the verge of crossing over to OneDerLand.
I can't be alone, there have to be others.
Looking for diet buddies who I can relate to.
Others who want to reach 199 and below.
Burn The Bridge Boat of philosophy is this:
Serious participation with relaxed results.
Why? B/c some of us are tough cases.
I understand and on those days we will 'uplift' you.
The Reward in this Group will be the day You get to Burn your Bridge.

Hi MM! After my recent honeymoon and pre-wedding stress, I'm at 204 (had dropped to 198-199)...But I'm so ready to move forward with my goal and leave the 200's FOR GOOD! What weight are you at now? How much further until you reach your goal??? I'm 5 ft. 6 in and shooting for about 140 by this time next year!
Fluffy Goes Flat (flat tummy that is)
How exciting ur a newly-wed.
SW 224 almost 2 years ago.
CW 206-210 range
1st Goal 199
2nd Goal 180
3rd Goal 170
4th Goal 160
ultimate goal 137 but thrilled with 160.
I'm hoping for 12 pounds off by next year but more is better.
Seems half the month I 'stall ' with being female.
Maybe, someone can help me fix that but for now that's my story.
I've been on countless diets but I've never tried a 'way of life'
and that's what I'm mainly interested in.
I love eating healthy.
I think I need to become more active and I'm currently working on that.
I use to think 30 minutes of movement was enough. Now I try for more movement.
I'm glad You want to BURN THE BRIDGE of being in the 200's.
I know where you are!! I'm there.
Lets cross over for sure this year and beyond.
I'm at 224, so I know that "onederland" is still a good period of time away for me, but it feels really great to be this close. 224 is much closer than 290. Being at a point where my weight became closer to 200 than 300 was a big thing for me as well.
Hello Big Girl Gone Smaller. Way to go on your current Success.
Burning the Bridge Boat of Philosophy is this:
I'm promoting serious participation but relaxed in results.
There are some of us that are tough cases and so there is no hurry only effort.
Being one of the slowest losers (I don't claim it) at CC I understand.
I've been around a while. Just now learning to log every bite. So I can
LOCATE truth.
I just finished 2 picture perfect weeks then the last two days not so good.
BUT I'm not a quitter.
Just tell your truth and we are here to UPLIFT you on 'those' days.
So, that's the Stage I'd like to set.
Feel free to say whatever. Free Speech Welcome here.
M&M
I weighed 198 for a couple of years (after losing 35). But i got back up to my highest once again I gained all that 35lbs back. So I started dieting, although this is not a diet it's a new way of life for me. I'm currently at 206 and I'm totally excited to see the scale hit 198 again. After that though I want to get down to 145. I haven't been smaller than 188 in like 5 years. So I'm really excited to see that scale go down and see those jean sizes get smaller!
I see we are forming a nice group.
This is good.
More to come.
Welcome.
There are 3 of us and I say we 3 should just get started.
Others can join in as they arrive.
The more the merrier.
I'd like to know Jr.
how you went from 235 down to 206?
How long did that Take you?
What is your mind set as far as your intake? do you focus on calories or
eating healthy. Fill us in please.
Same to you Big Girl Getting smaller...How did you lose 65 pounds?
Has it slowed up now? Fill us in please.
As for me I started almost 2 years ago and it's been very slow in coming off.
Now I'm logging everything and will find out TRUTH of what I'm really doing.
I am 'into' eating healthy and enjoy finding out what it does for me.
I am taking pictures of meals to show and tell and remind me later of what I
Liked. I am taking the time to find out what these foods do for me.
I truly want a WAY OF LIFE not a diet. And after 2 years it does feel like a
way of life but obviously I need to keep tweaking.
I recently UP'd my exercise. I thought 30 minutes a day was ok.
I now go for 60-90 minutes with 1 or 2 days off. I listen to my body.
Yesterday I ate way to many calories and had to PUSH myself to work out.
I did my elliptical machine and cleaned and managed to burn 1400 calories
according to the charts available here at CC.
I log my activities.
Like I spent 4 hours grocery shopping and putting it away. I logged that.
You can go to my journal and look around for interesting tid bits.
My tip of the Day is this: ADD RAW VEGGIES to anything your eating.
So healthy. So, say your eating a sandwich. Add some onion and tomatoes.
And better yet add some Basil Leaves. You can get basil leaves in big
containers now. Not just a few leaves. I discovered they are amazing chopped
Up in a bowl of soup. So, if I'm eating soup I now add some onions and
basil leaves. Even tomatoes. Why? B/c it's healthy. Fills you up.
I think it's the WAY to eat.
Why Ezekiel bread? Well, it's flourless and made with sprouts and HEALTHY.
It's the neatest way to get a Healthy Carb. Without ANY ZERO ZIPPO Guilt.
Taste good toasted. I use it daily.
I CAN'T WAIT TO BURN A BRIDGE
M&M
Hi,
I am stuck at 208 .
I have joined few groups, but with the work pressure i had last month, coudnt keep up with any of them.
So I would defenitely want to join a smaller group with around the same goal.
and i haev been looking for one.
Let me know if I can join.
Thanks
I'm In!
I started CC in March at 232...now I'm 205. At the end of Sept I got down to 202 but ever since then I've been bouncing between 204 and 208. It's driving me bonkers!
I know if I could add some more exercise into the mix I'd see the pounds fall off faster.
I think I need a little push to help me burn this darned bridge once and for all! Maybe we can cheer eachother on!
Oh Goodie
this is better than expected.
Yes, please come and dine here anytime.
I hope we all spur one another on.
JodiferJuniper I'm with you on going bonkers.
Like you I've been a bouncy ball.
MomofJJ you feel free to come and dine here anytime that is good for you.
I can't guarantee this will be a 'small group' as the door is open to receive
as many who are in this boat.
There is no obligations to read all the posts.
We are serious about the weight loss but relaxed with results is the motto.
Only b/c I am sensitive to those who are tough cases.
Glad to have you both aboard and can't wait until you Burn a Bridge.
Personally, on my 30 minute walk outside today I got excited about igniting
my bridge over to the 200's. I have a ways to go and realize 6-10 pounds
won't just drop off of me I've got to work for it. So, here I am too at 206-210
Another Tip BBGANG (Burn the Bridge Gang)
Drink plenty of water. That's easy to forget or drop off.
I drink a bottle First thing in the morning before coffee. (HIGHLY recommend).
I drink a bottle before I workout. During walking. After workout.
Now it's 4:30 and I felt some hunger......I reached for a few bottles of water
and now working on the 2nd one. It's working and tying me over.
And good for me.
You know there is so much to do and almost seems self centered but
If we take care of ourselves we can reach out and help others.

Q. What did everyone do today for Exercise?
I walked outside 30 minutes followed by 30 minutes on my elliptical machine.
I was on the tired side and had to really push through today. No fun. But I
did it regardless.
Q. What is your game plan or plan of attack for weight loss?
I am focusing on eating like a health nut. Eating when truly hungry.
LOgging every bite. Avoiding desserts unless made with Cane sugar.
Avoiding bad carbs or keeping them quite limited. EAting lots of RAW
fruits and Veggies with a good fat and good carb.
Q. Do you count and log calories?
Yes, I was SHOCKED on a pms day that I reached 3200 calories.
I quickly got moving and exercised 1400 of that away.
Made for a 1800 day which is a wash. But I really don't feel it is.
Q. Do you drink a certain amount of water each day?
Yes, I've learned and made it habit during the day to drink water.
Q. What do you think helped you so far?
More Exercise and no desserts. I thought 30 minutes of movement was enough but it's not for me. I aim for 90 minutes 5 days a week.
Q. Did you give up anything or plan for it once in a while?
Yes, I gave up desserts. It only sabotages my healthy efforts.
I can't get by with it.
Q. What do you do when PMS hits you if it does?
I eat more but make it healthy and count it. I have to eat when I'm hungry.
Q. How or What do you eat when going out to eat?
Ok I just love the Raw Veggie Sandwich at Panera Bread.
It's called Mediterranean and It taste good and it's healthy.
It's costly in calories. 300 for half. But It's something I feel good about.
I also enjoy JAlexanders. Cilantro Salad with the cheese/croutons/bacon REMOVED!!! it's so good it doesn't need it. A glass of red wine. A few bites
of others.
Speaking of Red wine it's my happy hour. I drink a few ounces everyday and
It's super healthy.

Hello Everyone,
Well let me start by saying that my current weight is 204.4 (yay!!!).
If you all ask why (yay) let me just tell you I started this long life journey at 285. I have been on this site for about 6 month now. I love the forum when I'm not to busy with my kids and work.
Q. What did everyone do today for Exercise?
I walk on my 15 minute break around our office. Daily
Tonight I'll get on my elliptical for about 20 minutes.
Beside this website I use my bodybugg to tell me how active I've been for the day.
Q. What is your game plan or plan of attack for weight loss?
Everyone says don't starve yourself but most people need to realize that people like me don't even come close to starving myself. What I mean is my thought of starving is probably what an average person my size should eat. I was use to everything being so large in portion size (SUPER SIZED EVERYTHING). I now say I have to eat like a bird but my bird eating is still around 1300-1600 calorie depending on how active i was that day. So yes I am always hungry. But that's not starving that eating healthy and losing weight.
Q. Do you count and log calories?
YES, I have to otherwise how else I'm I suppose to know how much I'm eating.
Q. Do you drink a certain amount of water each day?
No not really. I try to drink my 8 glasses of water a day but sometime I can't.
Q. What do you think helped you so far?
First would be seeing a picture of myself at 280.
And trying be more active walking is were I started and still do it.
Q. Did you give up anything or plan for it once in a while?
No not really last night I wanted so of my kids Halloween candy so I ate a snack size payday calories about 100 calories. But don't let that fool you that's not often and as long as I didn't go over my calorie for that day I have stayed in my budget of calories.
Q. What do you do when PMS hits you if it does?
Well beside go absolutely crazy. I take magnesium when I start craving sweets and it works for me. And drink a lot of water and I do not weight myself for at least 4 days after my period.(water weight)
Q. How or What do you eat when going out to eat?
I try to look up the restaurant before hand that I'm going too and figure out how many calorie I want to eat.
Q. What did everyone do today for Exercise?
Nothing, and everything. I cleaned the house, did the dishes, house-wifey stuff. believe me I didn't sit down all day! But that's normal for me. I'm hoping to get on the treadmill tonight in about an hour.
Q. What is your game plan or plan of attack for weight loss?
Eat in moderation and keep moving
Q. Do you count and log calories?
Yes, it's not easy, but I've found that weighing stuff really helps with accuracy
Q. Do you drink a certain amount of water each day?
I try to drink water, but it ends up being decaf tea or seltzer. I know I need to drink more H20...I just find it harder to drink it when it's so cold out
Q. What do you think helped you so far?
Determination to be healthy and teaching my children (ages 2, 5 & 6) healthy eating habits now so they won't have my issues when they grow up. Our motto is "Healthy Food First".
Q. Did you give up anything or plan for it once in a while?
I don't deny myself anything completely, but I try to pick more
healthful options. My current fav new food is fat free plain greek
yogurt. I NEVER used to be able to eat plain yogurt, but with a little
banana and kashi crunch it's delicious!
Q. What do you do when PMS hits you if it does?
This I am disastrous at. I know I should drink more water and exercise more because that is the only thing that seems to help me, but generally at least once every 3 months I have a complete meltdown and eat everything in site.
Q. How or What do you eat when going out to eat?
I look up the restaurant ahead of time to see if they list nutritional information. IF we are going out to a fancy dinner I opt for the fish. It's generally poached or pan seared...never in a sauce filled with calories.
Q. What did everyone do today for Exercise?
I know the importance of exercise, but I always start too quickly and with too much. I'm using the month of November to gain control of my eating habits and take my idea of 'healthy eating' to a new level. Fortunately, even though I have a desk job, I work at a huge plant and walk probably close to 2 miles up and down stairs and across the plant each day.
Q. What is your game plan or plan of attack for weight loss?
LOL! I should've read ahead! General plan outlined above...Currently aiming for a general 1600 cals/day without exercise. That will go up slightly with exercise when I add that. In December, I will start slowly adding
Q. Do you count and log calories?
Yes, if not I have horrible eating habits. It's almost like a game to me. Eat right and maybe have a few calories left over for some popcorn later that night...Stuff like that.
Q. Do you drink a certain amount of water each day?
I'm working on this. Right now I shoot for about 80 oz. a day, but I probably need more.
Q. What do you think helped you so far?
Counting calories and knowing that I need to be healthier to live a long and healthy life.
Q. Did you give up anything or plan for it once in a while?
Gave up some things (Little Debbie snack cakes, etc. and other things with absolutely 0 nutritional value), although since I know about special occasions in advance, I do typically alot a few calories for a bite of cake, etc.
Q. What do you do when PMS hits you if it does?
PMS makes me CRAVE chocolate and other sweet things, so again, I try to alot my calories for this. And I drink alot more water to fight those cravings.
Q. How or What do you eat when going out to eat?
This is something I've yet to face. If I know about it ahead of time, I can check out what the restaurant offers calorie wise on their website. If not, I think I know enough about portion sizes and calorie counts of most foods to make wise decisions.
I am thrilled so far with this group.
I relate to everyone of you.
Everyone is a REAL team player
serious about weigh loss as well as nutrition.
Not starving but making cuts.
I couldn't be happier.
Having said all of that lets remember
Slow and steady wins the race.
Another
Tip of the Day
Consider a delicious Apple.
Visit an Apple farm if need be.
I really enjoy a Honey Crisp Apple.
I like to add natural nuts, natural peanut butter
and on occasion those little stick cheese. (cheese is not as healthy as the others mentioned)
I aim to eat a daily apple. Lately, I eat it at night as a snack with Oatmeal.
I buy organic instant oatmeal and to my surprise my favorite is Private Select.
You have to go out into the normal oatmeal isle for this one. I also get other
brands from the health food section. I get the maple. They use CANE sugar
and this is processed so differently in your body and causes no spike or insulin
to be shot onto your pancreas. It's a healthier way to sweeten your food.
It's natural. it's about a 3% difference than sugar but your body can deal
with it better and it's not even bad for you. Xlityol is another Safe and natural
good tasting sugar. I get that in a canister. Hubby puts it in his coffee.
you can cook with it just fine. Also, agave nectar scores a zero on the GI list
and is safe for a diabetic. it has calories but it's a perfect tasting healthy natural sweetener. I'm glad I have both of these on hand. I'm trying to RUN
from any sugar products and find tasty cane sugar alternatives and it really
taste the exact same as sugar. If you do honey ( I do not) you need a RAW
honey or else it's not healthy and processed just like sugar. B/c it's over processed.
Sorry for the length of this info. I just wanted to clarify safe sweeteners.
As far as the artificial sweeteners the pink packet is safe. The blue packet is not and yellow packet splenda is not safe. Should be taken off the market shelves really.
While I'm at it. margarine and hydrogenated oil is the worst thing you can
put into your body. steer clear if you care about yourself or your family.
It's retarded oil meant for shelf life. Read labels.
I have an instant hot water machine and wow that's so easy.
I get 3 Gallon water from Kroger machine and it's a healthy water source.

I was thinking it would be a good idea to reinforce what our math is.
That's where you put in your age, weight, height.
They tell you how many calories you need.
Here is an EASY website to locate this truth.

Now you would be mad at me if I copied and pasted the info on this next
website.
I've not studied this out but I WANT to. We can discuss it later but here

Happy to Announce I got an A and just under 1500 calories.
Finally a day I can be proud of.
I had a few days off and prior to that 2 picture perfect weeks.
I pushed through working out today.
Just Tired and it was like harder than normal.
I did not have a PMS fit today and grateful.
Water helped but really the hormones were just better.
I'm not sure but I guess I have a few days like this.
Logging is going to reveal this for me.
Next month I'm going to remember water helps.
I drink water but I need more to fight this feeling I get.
I have to eat and I don't even want to.
According to my math which I just looked into....
That is a little low so I think I'll take a swig of my lemon cod liver oil.
Super healthy. Some say causes weight loss.
it's 45 calories for a teaspoon.
Someday I'll show you the facts on fish oil and cod liver oil.
Really everyone should be taking it. Your family. Even your dog.
