So, if I read the forum QandAs correctly, can I then, take the total calories burned for the day (the BOTTOM Burn Meter number), and subtract the total calories CONSUMED for the day (the BOTTOM Food number), and be left with how many more calories I can consume in 24 hours?  Help...still confused.  My Food Goal is 1600/day.  Right now, I've PUT IN nearly 500.  My Burn Meter TOP number is about 2200/day, but it says, according to the bottom number, there's the figure 1700ish.  Where can I just look and know HOW MUCH MORE CAN BE CONSUMED?!?

Thanks!

Ok, I didn't follow anything you said, so here's my explanation.

Eat meter - the big number (big as in large font size) is how many cals you have logged as eaten - every time you log another food, the number goes up.

the little number is your goal for today - 1600 in your case.

Burn meter - the big number is how many calories you have burned since this past midnight - basically a calorie clock - it keeps ticking up, and at midnight it resets. It will update through the day, and will also increase if you log any exercise.

the little number is how many calories you will have burned by midnight tonight. It always starts at the amount based on your current weight, and if you log any activities, it increases appropriately.

To lose weight, you want to eat 500 calories LESS than the total you burn from midnight to midnight (the little number) that day. 500 calories/day = 3500 calories/ per week deficit = 1lb lost per week.

OK, so if I get you, the little number in the burn meter would be the cals I require to MAINTAIN, and if I take 500 away from that, I'll start losing.  Thanks so much.  I guess that means there is NOT a counter that will hit my calorie number that is the number to LOSE weight.  Never good when I have to do anything in my head, but I'll give it a try!

Thanks again.

Hiya alli-

If you go into your account settings, you can change your eat meter to the 1600 calories you need to eat daily to loose weight.  You just type the number of calories into the little box and it will change your meter from maintenance calories to weight loss calories.

Good luck ~!
