Burn Meter flaw (?)

Hi,

I have a question regarding Burn Meter. When I am adding my sport related calories burned, it just automatically adds these calories over top of what I suppose to be burning according to my usual activity level. It did not seem right. If, according to my lifestyle I burn approximately 80 cal/hr just for basic metabolism and instead i exercised on elliptical and burned 650 cal/hr, it should not mean that i burned 730 cal/hr, because these "maintenance" calories are already included in these 650... Isn't it?

Does that mean that before adding my activities to the list i have to substract mannualy 80 from every hr of sport related activity in order to avoid too optimistic picture on my daily Burner?

If the machine says you burned 650, that includes what you burn at sedentary. So when you add it to the burn meter, it subtracts the 80 calories that it had alloted for that hour and adds in the 650, so it should look like your burn meter went up 570.

You are right. My mistake.

Sorry, I did not noticed that it does add a little bit less to the final "score". Just was looking for explanation why, even when I get deficiency of 3500 calories (not in one day, of course), yet dont see any weight loss on the scale...

Yeah - it confuses a lot of people. I never noticed til people started asking.

Are you keeping a reasonable daily deficit (500-750 cals)? How long have you been at it - sometimes it just takes time for the weight loss to show up on the scale.
